A lot of people seem to miss that Bring It On focused on a larger issue: cultural appropriation. White people stealing stuff from blacks and so on. So, yeah, she wasn’t mean. If anything I’d say she was really nice because in the end she’s forgiving towards Torrance and they form a friendship.

It wasn't about being ugly or average. It was about the fact that she antisocial. So trying to convince someone who is antisocial to be a part of the biggest social event of the school would be a bit of a challenge. The bet was that he could make any girl prom queen. How about trying to convince a girl that has no interest in that title to actually want it and campaign for it? The movie was not about making her over. It was about getting her to interact with more people. Hence why Lainey said what she said when Taylor dumped the drink on her. She was like this is why I don't go outside and talk to people.
