Olivia is beautiful! Congratulations and welcome back. As always, everything is beautiful. And don't worry about stitching in the airport. Every week, I go to the laundromat. While I wait for my clothes to wash, I stitch, knit, or crochet. People always ask what I'm making. In fact, the regulars always want to see pictures of my progress on things I've worked on. I have to limit my visits to my LNS because it never fails, I always spend way more than I plan to. Did you know there are some DMC colors that you can only get in those kits? I just found that out. There are a couple designers that will use those colors, which makes it hard to find the colors because you can't buy them individually.

The DMC floss sets are commonly the craft store sets. They also do the flat tins usually with about 30-35 colors. They did one of those when they introduced the new colors 1-35 a few years ago. The sets aren't bad as they are the most used colors. There's even a black and white set if buying a cone is slightly out of your budget. With a store coupon or even some sales on the DMC website those boxes are significantly cheaper per skein depending on what store you regularly buy your DMC. It's a nice little way to stock up if you're starting or even top up on common colors if you are someone who kits each project vs using a master set.

I never compared pricing. Interesting about the possibility of the boxes being cheaper. I have a ton of DMC, so these will be for display only for now. I'm totally willing to break into them if needed. Thanks for the info! ~J
