She's written songs for Beyonce, J-Lo, Charli XCX, John Legend, Rita Ora, Little Mix, and loads of other artists. She was stuck with a record label for years that only allowed her to release generic house/dance/pop singles and wouldn't let her release the music she really wanted to do. She finally escaped that contract, independently released her first album and it was a HUGE hit! She now has the record for the most BRIT Award wins in one year (the UKs Grammy equivalent). Highly recommend you check out the music videos for her songs Genesis, Ice-Cream Man, Escapism and her live performances from the BRITs, SNL and her Triple J cover of 'Feeling Good'.

she sings with passion, that's what i love most about her. you just know that she feels it, that it's real, that is pure. and every performance is different, so it's always a new experience, even if you've listened to that song a million times, still fresh and beautiful. i love her too! also, yes, she's really humble! not only on her performances, but all her interviews, she shows that. such a talented woman being so down to earth with her human side is incredible. i'm a huge fan!!

She wrote LOVE ON THE BRAIN for Rihanna and lots of other songs! She's fn FABULOUS!!!! Reminds me of Dame Shirley Bassey, Amy Winehouse, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah V. She composes her own songs! I just found out about her, and I adore her!!!! Classy, talented, and a lovely young woman (just turned 27).

Her whole album My 21st century Blues is absolutely insane. The production on that thing is completely mind blowing. You should definitely review the whole album in one reaction video.. Im not kidding everysong is an absolute banger. Album of the year the whole thing is like one long story from start to finish combining every type of music possible. 2) Her medley performance at the Brit Awards is superb. You could watch Raye a hundred times and she wouldnt sing a song the same twice, shes a true artist. Enjoy your Raye Journey x

Such a BIG song. She's awesome. I want to hear her do a Led Zepplin song now. The James Brown original is a powerful song that really connects. But she added some depth to it. Added a more explicit Bible reference, and really zooms in on Man as in "Mankind" being 'lost in the wilderness" and "lost in bitterness. She could've mentioned the Internet in there, and I wouldn't have been shocked.

She's checking out Raye, how would it help to watch JB ? I'd bet my soul that she's familiar with JB's version. Stealing ? You do know J.B's dead and if no-one sang his songs live they would die. It's often covers that introduce people to the old greats.

@@direnova6284 I didn’t say she was stealing the song. I said she was stealing the fame that James Brown generated for that song. Which helps generate interest and popularity in her song. Singing someone else’s hit is a lot easier than coming up with your own.

@@Hundhammer I’m glad she has a lot of hits. I’m glad she loves to sing it, but she wasn’t the original. James Brown took a chance on that song and put it on a record. She didn’t take any chances at all. She already knew it was a hit. I’m just saying if you’re going to react to a song give the original artist that made it a hit the respect they’re due and react to that first. If you want to come back later and play another version that’s fine with me.

I don't know Raye, first time hearing her. Yes she has range but it was very controlled in my opinion, she didn't really take the risk while singing this song. Joss Stone on the other hand, she will break a few glasses along the way if you know what I mean!!

When you do a cover you gotta bring a new dimension to the song. This is just a little bit of jazz scatting to it and doesn’t do the song justice. She can sing, no doubt, but this isn’t doing it
