The thing that most women in the West had mixed up and twisted the ideology of feminism and women empowerment. In the Philippines, we uphold women's rights and such, the only difference is we just know where we stand and do not cross the line. Gender Role is automatic and given. Couples just understood naturally that it goes with the commitment of love, respect and building a family, whether the woman earns more than the man or is a stay-at-home wife. Generally, Filipinos, both men and women, always look at LOVE first than material things and physical attributes. And if they love and treated the same way, with respect and loyalty, they will protect you more than anything and to anyone. We have this old cliche, " O, Pag-ibiig na makapangyarihan, hahamakin ang lahat, masunod ka lamang. " (Oh , Love that is so powerful. I can challenge and despise anything just to follow you.) Salute tio ya'all who follow their heart and well-being. There is only one happiness in life, and that is to love and beloved.

Although, society here in US are more tolerant on okder guys married to young girl but not very acceptance on older girls married to younger guys.

Main reason why im planning on going to the Philippines is for acceptance. I dont mind modern women actually from the relationship aspect but the thing is is that they aren’t attracted to a 5’6, non 100k person. Average in America isn’t accepted ( or below average in my case in terms of height) so I go where I am welcomed and to me that’s king…

what most critics don't get is exactly what your guests said. "Traditional" marriages in the Philippines ARE different from the USA. Yes, it's not a "wife as a servant" relationship. It's too bad that's how it is in the USA, but the Philippines, even before the Spaniards came, relationships used to be more equal. The Spaniards actually did a LOT to "westernize" marriage attitudes in Asia --and that's what you see as the "Patriarchal nonsense" experienced in the West. But 100 years on, relationships are sliding back to the old Asian model.
