My dog doesn’t normally sing to music from a phone or speakers but he loves real guitar. When I played this he actually started signing with it. Real music!

We scattered my best friend's ashes in Norwich, UK on Saturday, and She Sells Sanctuary was one of his fave goth tracks in the late 80's. I have just done a little video montage of the photos for all our friends and used your version as the backing music which punched me in the feels multiple times during editing it together. Thank you for this beautiful version. I shall credit your name accordingly alongside the video when I upload it for a few select friends viewing only.

@@CynicalKid Thank you ever so much. Your music made a lot of people cry! I still can't watch the final video without tearing up. Because my friend was a Goth in the late 1980's The Cult was one of his favourite bands. I thought I would search for ambient acoustic versions of SSS and came across your amazing rendition. I would love to show you the video. A few people have checked your channel out on KZbin now as I linked your channel to when I uploaded the vid to Facebook.

Michael how long have you been playing guitar, and second how long or how much time did you put into playing she sells before making the video? I'm an old guy who didn't pick up a guitar until I was 55. I'm 58 now, and watching how effortless you bang that song out is amazing to me.

@@kenross5637 im similar to you Ken. ive been a singer forever and when my last band broke I didnt pursue being in a band anymore. I bought an acoustic and taught myself chords. that was around when I was 43 or 44 maybe. I just turned 51. I started looking up chords to some of my favorite acoustic songs and discovered some of the biggest songs ever are all either 3,4 or 5 chords. that started to give me alot of hope. but then there was the singing and playing at same time thing. very challenging. learning the guitar has been incredibly painful too I cant seem to relaxing when I play always missing strings cause I cant hold a pick correctly, forearms ache and throb within minutes of playing, its effected my neck muscles, back muscles, hands, fingers, forearms its crazy. but im still playing. ive learned like 40 cover songs too.

@@kenross5637 Hey man! Sorry I didn't see this comment earlier. I'm 54. I started playing when I was maybe 15, but not very seriously or well. Was in bands from 19-24 or so and then completely quit for a looong time. Picked it up again at 48 and got more serious about practicing. I've been getting so much fulfillment from playing and writing again! Cannot believe I wasted 25 years of my life without it. I just recently joined a band and just played my 1st live concert in 30 years! Thanks so much for the compliment; it helps in the fight against imposter syndrome. I spent a couple weeks, (hard to say in hours; 6? 10?,) coming up with how to make it work. Technically, it's a simple song, but adding the vocal melody was a challenge for me. I had to write out the lyrics and make notes so I could remember how it goes. You can see me looking at them during the last verse. I am really glad I did it, as it was fun, but also because it took off a bit on KZbin and I got exposed to a few more people like yourself. Keep on playing,, my man!

@@s.f.morris7331 I'm 54. The pain is real, brother! It's so worth it when you can finally get a few good chords out, though. Singing and playing is something I've never been able to do. Or singing at all, for that matter! If you want some tips that helped me: Hold the pick how it works for you, but anchor your hand somehow when picking individual notes. I usually have my pinky and ring finger planted on the soundboard. Relax, stretch a lot, and breathe! (I always catch myself holding my breath.) and with acoustic, make sure you have the guitar in a neutral position so you aren't struggling to keep it in place. Usually means raising your leg up on something about 10". Rock on.
