I got eyeglasses when I was 16 years old. I strengthened my eye muscles by exercising them 3-4 minutes morning and evening by just rolling my eyes around. Within 30 days, my vision was perfect and there was no need for glasses. This was 50 years ago. Later life, eye problems can be prevented or cured with nutrients.

@@HEAVENKNOWS2807 Look at what nutrients are in ocular fluid that lens bathes in. Vitamin c and reduced glutathione are important. They prevent cataracts. As we age, there is less glutathione. This will increase age spots and cataracts. I had break out in age spots, and they disappeared within weeks. i take life extension eye supplement macular with saffron every 3 days. Cured my night blindness in one month. I'm currently experimenting with isotine plus eye drops. Don't expect a linear improvement daily for eye drops. There is up and down in improvement, so needs to evaluated over many days.

people who live together will often sub consciously pick up each others habits. is it possible your wife is doing many of the habits you are doing and not really knowing it consciously? is it possible your entire household has a much lower stress level that helps the sight of everyone in it? my mom at 55 retired from a microbiology lab. Her stress levels went down. She bought a small dog. and started going outside a lot with this small, playful, fast dog. Her new bf had perfect vision and preferred she not wear her glasses. She wore her glasses less and less. From age 55 to 60 her lens went from -4 to not needing glasses at all. i believe my mom chasing around her small dog in a busy suburb forced her to triangulate several objects in the distance. I believe she started picking up the vision habits of her new bf. It took me a while to piece together the habits you recommend with how my mom's vision changed for the better.
@MyopiaIsMental
@MyopiaIsMental Жыл бұрын
Yes and yes! I do believe she subconsciously picked up some of the habits I did just from being around me. During covid we often went to the lake or to beach, so we were outside a lot more and I know that was a contributing factor. Your stress plays a huge role as well and the stress of others can affect you negatively or positively. For example, when my daughter was a baby, she would sometimes go into a crying fit. She was well fed, had a clean diaper but just fussy. In order to calm her down, all I had to do was hold her and breathe slowly. Eventually, she would sync her breathing to mine and once she did a double inhale and long exhale, she would be asleep within a minute. Nothing like a crying baby to get you upset especially when you're tired, but I learned if I don't get upset, she calmed down quicker. To this day I can still get her to fall asleep when she's over stimulated, just by sitting next to her in a quiet room and breathing. I don't have to talk at all, I just sit there and breathe. She'll eventually settle down, curl up on my lap and be asleep within minutes. This is why I say eyesight is a full body, mental and stress and nutrition issue. Once you address all aspects of your mind, body and soul, you'll notice not just improvement in your vision, but entire well-being!

I love both of your methods and have tried a combination. My eyesight has also gotten better through faith in Jesus as my healer. I have exercised off and on my eyes and added more vitamin A through cod liver oil. I notice when I don't take it I get blurry. My sight is blurry to read but ok otherwise. I was 2.5 and dropped to 1-1.5 depending. If is get tired my sight sometimes gets really blurry to see anything close or far. I will continue to just improve lowering stress and wear the lowest glasses level I can. I just buy over the counter and I did notice the more I wore them the worse I got so, often now I put my 1.5's at the end of my nose so I am probably 1.25. God is my healer!

This is a fallen and sinful world. Bad eyesight along with innumerable other bad things are the result of bad behavior which is called sin, which has been around and running rampant in this fallen world since Adam and Eve. You may as well have asked why does God make us die, and not live eternally, and you would have received the same answer--sin is terminal, it kills prematurely, and God does not sustain sinful and terminal living. @squidders8656

I have a man friend who told me that he had been in his home when suddenly his eyesight completely cleared. He saw the items around his house in the sharpest vision that he had ever seen anything! His vision out the windows was suddenly clear. This clear state only lasted for maybe 10-15 sec. and then his vision returned to "normal', slightly blurry. He realized in that moment that eyesight is not a function of the physical eyes, but of the brain. The physical eyes are just the vehicle that receives impulses from the brain through the optic nerves. Interesting! And I'm so happy that your own eyesight has cleared up! Nice!

So glad he came to this conclusion because many don't. The eyes are just a window to accept the light. The brain is doing all the work the create the images and manage how the eyes work. Once I figured this out, I kept asking the question, "if this is a brain issue, why are we constantly trying to fix just the eyes?" Thank you for sharing your comment!

I have to go and have my eyes tested soon. I have found that my eye site has improved by not relying on my glasses. I can actually stand in a car park look at car number plates, focus on them and read them which I never have been able to do before. I have even been game by not wearing my glasses whilst driving (only if I felt I could) and I have found I can do that comfortably and I am able to read some of the street signs. My biggest problem is when I have to put my glasses on I end up keeping them on plus I am unable to see as well as if I don't put them on at all. What started making me not wear them is that I had found getting up in the morning I would actually forget to grab my glasses and put them on. The times I put them on is either when I need to do work on the computer, detailed work or if I need to cut things up with a knife in the kitchen ( I value my fingers). I am determind to get rid off my glasses as I feel wearing them all the times makes your eyes worse. For one , the struggle of keeping them clean and two I believe the reason our eyes get worse wearing glasses all the time is that our eyes end up relying on them, making our eyes lazy.

Wearing the strong glasses for the close work is the key to start the presbyopic shifting. It happened to you when you said you were working on your computer and your vision got tired, having difficult to handle things.. the point is; people with moderate myopia (-3.0 to -5.0) they start to have problem to see the smartphone for a long period of time (my brother is in this boat, and he is always removing his glasses or going out for no reason) their vision begins to blur while using their phones in a close range like 10 to 20 inches. When they go outdoors the glasses does not longer feel good. It blurs, it has not the great details and it strains the whole body, people gets very tensioned. They go to the optometrist and the doctor increase their astigmatism i.e. cylinder (one big evidence of myopia decreasing reported even from Bates observartions).. But the doctor will never decreases the myopia (spherical) or if he lower the myopia he will increase astigmatism because he learnt that way. Because there is an old book from '70 that teaches how to manage astigmatism/cylinder in an exchanging on myopia/spherical and etc. Or the Doctor will say that you have or developed a "lazy eye" cause he is increasing your diopters and that eye does not find the focus. The person keeps doing the same thing (and nowadays its even more close work than the day their theory was developed). The one big detail, the person never feels the same wearing the strong glasses. It wont fit or match as it uses to do before. And they can develop weird symptoms, psychossomatics one or even real ones. P.S: and I think they know that if the letters for close work get blurry of fuzzy it will lessen fhe myopia, so they puts astigmatism and they keep incresing in order to the myopia never heals by the presbyopic effect.

@@gaynzz6841 Yes, I am still around. My comment above is true. But now, talking with other people around the world, I found that wearing strong glasses held at 15 to 20 cm from the face is much better to help with myopia. The mechanism is the same as seeing distant things. People on the internet did not understood the distant vision yet. When you see a distant object, it looks like a miniature of the it's real scale. So, seeing things in a miniature level scale will simulate distant vision. That stuff about plus lenses emulate distant vision is a misunderstanding of that topic. I just don't recommend people trying wearing strong pair of glasses in front of their nose if they are under development stages. People 25+ should give it a try.

@@knightairsoftwarriorYes, but try without glasses too. Read the IX chapter of Perfect Eyesight Without Glasses. In this chapter Bates teaches how accelerate presbyopia which is one major key to improve distant vision. There are pictures of people seeing without tension and one particular where a kid reading looking up but with lights off. When we see see upward we offer no resistance, the same when we let our face fall off while looking down, heads down.. the more you can keep your good vision to worse the better youll improve. In antoher words, makes the texts you already can see, make them blur, keep it blurry. But of course, after minutes doing it, your vision will improve and astigmatism will appears along, you can use a sunglasses to minimize astigmatism or just ignore it. The key is do more and more.

Hi, I found your channel just today but I feel like what you are saying resonates with me. I have definitely noticed years ago already that the sharpness of my vision is very strongly affected by many things: when I feel overall tired and didn't sleep well, in the morning it feels like my glasses are not strong enough. Then there are days when I had proper rest, slept very well, feel energized in the morning and my glasses seem perfectly accurate. It also changes during the day with my levels of energy respectively. I noted as well that my vision improves significantly when I do an extensive physical activity that makes my blood rush through all of my body (after a casual walk it improves just a bit). With all those factors playing a role I refuse to believe that there is no way to improve my eyesight. A few months back I went for an eye check because during the pandemic I neglected the regular checks and had a feeling that I needed stronger glasses (I spent 2 years studying online which meant a full-time occupation of staring at the computer screen, reading and writing). The result was that my parameters didn't change in fact. I was glad to hear that but also surprised that all this extensive time of working on the computer for 3 years of my studies didn't worsen my vision as I was always told this is the cause of my myopia. I started using a hydrating eye drop a couple of weeks back and keeping my eyes hydrated helps a lot and also influences my vision positively. With this experience of mine I am much more inclined to believe what you're saying than to accept that myopia is an incurable condition.

It was like this over the wntire thanksgiving break. And I have noticed that I feel like my progress reset in a way where everything is blurrier now but Im able to clear things up easily without ny glasses, but the tearing and stinging is completely back to what it was when I first started. So I have mixed feelings. Did you ever experience this during your journey? And what should I do? I cannot thank you enough for your advice and guides on your website as they helped me tremendously. You need to take charge and do what is right for yourself. You are the only person who will have to deal directly day in and day out with the outcome of the decisions you make for your eyes. Glasses force you to focus unnaturally without using peripheral vision correctly and make your eyesight worse. It also has a spiritual impact that reduces your intuition and ability to remember things. If your family are not encouraging you and supporting you then you should never listen to what they advise. The raw truth is that glasses are a business and no business wants to lose a customer...

Bro it's been years since you have been talking about this. You never got your eyesight tested to prove 20/20. You have always been saying oh I am just making sure it will be 20/20 100%. Yet it's been years and you still haven't reached 20/20. Look at the comments barely anyone improving their vision permanently. They just have double visions and such. I have literally followed your routines and such, and have noticed an improvement but the thing is, this is not something easy to fix. Those who have myopia have bad habits and to break these ONLY a few people can actually pull it through. If you can't pull 20/20 and this is like sorta your job, then how are people going to be able to do it. And from watching this video it's obvious she spent less screen time or close up time, and was out more to see things in distance.

According to real Bates Method, anyone can induce this state by straining to see at near. It will reverse the effect of myopia. An eyeball cannot show both conditions at the same time. So going to hyperopia or presbyopia, it will lessen myopia. People who wear above -3.50 knows what i am talking about, it gets hard to see clearly at near with glasses after some years of wearing them for distance.
@Bernardo-mt8ho
@Bernardo-mt8ho 11 ай бұрын
Unfortunately even people who did laser eye surgery develop some kind of astigmatism, they relate it as halos, starbusts, ect. Some people say it is a Pavlov reflex, because people still strain to see at distance and this disturbs the eyeballs. So straining for close reading may reduce strain for distance, reversing the reflex.

I really like Mark's approach to eyesight improvement. His technique is good and his attitude is great. Improvements are guaranteed. Changing habits and taking care of vision will lead to a better eyesight for sure. We need to say that 20/20 vision is not that easy to optain. A cristal clear vision without glasses is pretty impossible. We must be honest. A life without glasses is the reasonable goal, but this doesn't mean 20/20. I say this because I think that Mark's method is really great and anyone should follow this technique. Good luck to anyone willing to improve his/her own eye sight.

Thank you for taking care of abandomed cats and for getting up so early! I have a rescued cat. Blueberries are good for the eyes and the latest research (October 2023) says eating grapes EVERY DAY helps improve 'older peoples' eyesight problems. Whether there is a link between eating grapes regularly and myopia is not yet known.

Be careful with the amount of fruit that you eat. Fruit contains fructose which is still a form of sugar and having too much can be no different than having processed, sugary food. I do eat blueberries when in season because they are high in antioxidants and good for the eyes. I don't typically eat a lot of bananas, apples or oranges because they usually have too much sugar.

People when trying to reverse their myopia they think that their eyeballs are ultra elongated like 5 inches and this will take a decade to shorten. But is not, -3D is equal a 1 milimmiter of eyeball elongation. It's so imperceptible that only something more imperceptible could be responsible for this milimmetrical change. And that's something that we do constantly or we stop doing, in a daily basis. When we do something natural like yawn or laughing, we can see clearer for a fraction of time because we go back to the normal. If we breakdown the yawning reflex in small pieces. William Bates was right, it's a matter of stop doing what we are doing wrong or start doing what we are not doing. The body knows how to heal itself. But is impossible to heal from a wrong understanding, that's impossible heal of something that is full of wrong ideas.

Yeah but the another big myth is that the vision will give a quantum jump from total blur to prescription glasses. Comparing both conditions will makes the person gives up. And no one will say to her "it does not work that way". And it is very rare to the visiom shifts in an opposite direction super fast and stay there for the rest of life. But the improvement is still happening.

I recall the first time I put on glasses, I got headaches. When I stopped wearing my glasses all the time, I also got headaches. I believe the headaches are due to the changes in perspective we see in the visual field. The brain has to get use to the new way of seeing or rather re-learning how to see correctly. Over time the headaches went away as long as I kept up with trying to improve my vision.

In the beginning it took months before my left eye (the weaker one) to start making any improvement. I believe it is normal for both eyes to feel different. Mine still feel different to this day. However, as long as you keep doing the techniques your weaker eye will eventually catch up. One thing to help this is be aware of more motion/movement in the weaker eye. One if the things I used to do for a few minutes at a time was snap my fingers on my left hand repetitively at the edge of my left peripheral. This allowed the left, weaker eye to see movement and sync with sound. This also works the vestibular-oculo system (ears ability to sync with your vision and vice versa). Doing this will help balance your eyes faster. If you want a deeper understanding of why this works, I go into much more details in my Advanced Journey Guide.

I was simply working on my computer when suddenly I get a ton of clarity, the tearing and stinging and everything. I wasnt even thinking about it, nor was I doing the techniques then! It just happened on its own! I think I reached a great milestone! Also, I noticed that my eyes had been tearing up at random moments, starting today. Is this my ciliary relaxing? I noticed that they tear sometimes when Im not doing the techniques as well!

The reason why this happens is because you started to teach your body something different and it wants the change. I've experienced this many times when all of a sudden you vision just starts working. It process will yo-yo with good days and bad days. Your body has experienced the change, and knows it can change but to make the process easier and faster, you have to believe it can change and continue to do the work. Eventually it will click and then you will know you've mastered everything I've been saying. Anytime you ask questions about the process, you're just doubting yourself. Stop doubting and start believing. You already know this works. Trust yourself to figure the rest out.

@@kiana_plays4203there is a transient consequence of any natural vision improvement, it is on Chapter IX of Bates' Book. This Chapter is not a book case of eye disease or something like deep web, the black and white photos are just the technology of that time. This book is about exactly how to improve your vision, with real images of how we should do. The transient consequence is astigmatism. That's ths way the eyeball expresses itself wgen shifting it's condition. Some people knowing this they buy new glasses with not astigmatism correction. Others buy glasses with no astigmatism correction and with tinted lenses in order to lower the transient astigmatism.

Mark, I feel like I get the most clear flashes when I try my best not to blink. I get the stinging and tearing and try to keep my eyes open as long as I can. I fight the blinking and get so much tearing literally falling from my eyes. Is it bad to continue like this? Or am I good? I just want to make sure I’m not going to do any damage. It feels good to me but I remember in one of your videos you said blinking feels like you’re going backwards in progress. But in another video you mentioned that you should listen to your body and blink when required. I am currently fighting the blinking as much as possible. After one time I did this where I felt I had resisted the blinking sensation the most, my eye muscles felt so light and at rest afterwards. It was a weird sensation to describe but it felt so good!

Glasses help giving us a center place to work from. That's a therapeutic thing. We got "prescription" from the Eye Doctor, like a prescription drug. Of course glasses aren't the tratament, but they can help along the journey. Not wearing any of them might be a negative choice at the beginning. You should try a pair of glasses with no astigmatism correction for example, if you do not drive at night. Astigmatism is something that happens all the time, for example in laser eye surgery (LASIK and PRK) seeing the small letters in the chart with tons of ghost, fuzzy, halo or starbusts is considered a total success. They say it uses to disappear with the time, and it does in many cases. Many people have astigmatism and they prefer wear prescription glasses with tinted lenses or a clip-on sunglasses on the top distant glasses as well people who did eye surgery.

@@kiana_plays4203the thing is your eyesight will fluctuate a lot and when I say a lot is really a lot. But when you vision is fluctuating your mind will run from all jargons you have heard your entire life: "I cannot do it." "I should listen to the doctor". "It is all about money". "I will never get there." "Of course, my eyeball is elongated it will never work". "I am just straining". "It was just a water and tears". And bla bla bla. Our minds can doubt about everything we do. It is about the duality of life. I wear my strong glasses just to see the stars at night, I call my old strong pair of glasses "my telescope" because I can see all the stars that are light years from the Earth. If I were you I wouldn't be so worried about going back to glasses or not. You should allow yourself to wear them when you feel you need them. As you allowed yourself to take them off to try something else. I was searching for other ways to get the end result. My uncle eliminated his myopia by aging. He got presbyopia and his right eye is 20/40 now and he passed the DMV test naked eye.. The thing is; how to accelerate presbyopia? Andrew Hubberman on his podcast he was talking to his collegue about presbyopia and he said that extraocular muscles and the muscles of the face are responsible also to induce presbyopia (and not just the hardening of the lens) It goes directly along with Bates said 100 years ago. If we strain to see at near, making what we already can see clearly becoming fuzzy, blur, grey-scale (search on Google Images how people with presbyopia sees) ..We can induce hyperopia and this effect will lessen myopia. Its on Chapter IX of his Book. He said reading upward in a low light condition will boost the technique. And Wikipedia says the same thing about underwater photographers, they got presbyopia early, because they see near in low light condition. I was practicing other thing: watching on KZbin tutorials of people using their computer but recording with their smartphones, so thir PC screen gets so hard to read that I strain uncounsciouly to read.

@@kiana_plays4203when you put your glasses on, pay attention on (go live a normal daily routine, but pay attention to) - how your feet are placed. - in which part of your feet you are supporting your body (external area, frontal, center, heels, heels + other areas, toes) - how your tongue is moving or it is locked, its shape, which place. - how does it feel your lips and their corners/edges. - do you feel a relaxing effect in which parts of your face or neck. - head position, your face is more centered or not. - there is another contraction of relaxation over your body; scalp, booty, abdomen, I know people say about relaxation is the key, but to get a constantly better vision and not just flashes we need to work on our own bodies by paying attention to the small parts. I've tried only relaxation and I felt so dead in daily life. I felt it was missing more than relaxation. I think relaxation is good as to give breaks and for people under 20/40, relaxing here and there, but is not as a way to live life. For example, when I open my smartphone camera and see other smartphone screen, I feel like my upper lip wants to fall all way down.. Like a pressure going away and my vision improves for distance.

I found a trick to boost one of the powerful Bates Method technique Wearing a undercorreted glasses for distance , put the smartphone letters close to your eyes, until you find focus.. You can move the smartphone back and forth, and you can move down your upper lip while doing this.. When you find the focus, keep it. In general lines focus tend to be a slightly control over eyes. The letters tend to become bold, with some background bold thing. After the exercise, remove your glasses and notice how your face changed a lot. Your eyeballs shrink a little bit and all peripheral movement makes your eyes sharp.

@@kiana_plays4203Just try it. First with out glasses, just naked eye. Put your smartphone close to your eyeballs, passing your nose area, of course you can do just one eye at time. I did using a Pocket mirror and I saw my eyeball got like a normal eye, the cornea pretty brighten. The thing is, to keep this "state of mind" is hard. Bates said myopia is also about controlling our mind. The perception is, you are crossing your eyes but not the physical thing, but the intention. Central fixation is something like both eyes working together, when two become one.. and the vision gets first double then sharpen. The part of lips is REAL, many authors pointed that the canine area on myopes are tensioned.. See people with good eyesight, they have a soft upper lip on the edges, on the corners.. Generally this thing makes our voice deeper, thats also why we see a little better after wake up.

I recall the optometrist saying to my parents that it was normal to experience headaches when you first start wearing glasses. I believe the same reason you get headaches when you first start wearing glasses is the same reason you get them when you stop wearing glasses. Your body goes into shock from the instant change. Hey Mark! I've been following your videos since almost 4 years. I haven't been able to adopt the habits & techniques fully, on a regular basis. But, I've done/I do the techniques whenever I remember. And I have developed high & persistent double vision through these techniques. Literally I see more than two images/multiple images of an object spreaded around. Earlier I only had myopia & now I'm scared of what I have developed. What went wrong? Should I continue or will this get my eyesight worse? I've reached a state of confusion, frustration & depression. Please help...🙏🙏

The double vision is nothing more than a misalignment of the light hitting the retina and will improve over time as long as you continue work on your vision. Things that really helped with this was what I talk about in the jumping and walking videos I recently posted. Watching up and down movement as well as side to side movement really helps smooth this out but it must be done on a regular basis and not just when remembered. When I experienced the double vision, I was sure to work on this at least 3 times a day for 2-5 minutes at a time.

Because you are not regular you just develop double vision double vision is a sign that ur eyes are improving and if you will not work regularly you can't fix that do drills regularly atleast 30 min rocking and 30 min peripheral watching multiple object ❤

Blur to double vision to clear. That’s how the process works. Keep going.

@@strangers99172 I started this journey more recently. It is frustrating when first taking off your glasses and u just see blur. I started off as -3.75 in both eyes I haven’t got them checked for a few months. I’d say I’m in between blur and double vision. The clear flashes gives me hope to continue.

Does watching the far sided objects and then close objects within 3s switching does this fixes the auto focus of our eyes better or will it improve and have double vision...hoping it will improve by itself after Improve I stopped wearing glasses eventhough when I really needed night time is difficult if we are planning to go for long drive

The focus should be automatic. Maybe not at first but eventually it will be. However, switching between near and far objects works on your eyes ability to converge and diverge. Many people have a deficiency in convergence so switch will help strengthen the weakness. By all means, wear your glasses when needed, but work on your vision as often as you can (without overdoing it).

Hey! Just wanted to know that I have -1. 75D in left eye and -2. 25D in right eye you see unequal eyes!? Also no 20/20 vision. I usually dont wear my glasses while attending my schools I only wear my glasses when watching visual things is it okay for my eyes to not wear glasses like that or would it make myopia progression higher? Kindly please do reply to my question.

I want to be clear...this is not just about taking off your glasses. If you take off your glasses, you also have to be working on your eyesight while your glasses are off! You do this by noticing movement as you move as well as your full field of view. If you're just staring at stuff and not moving while you're glasses are off, you're really not working on your eyes. It's an easy trap to fall into so it requires awareness of when you're doing it or not.

@@MyopiaIsMentalyeah I know that I should do exercise for my eyes and I am crystal clear with that thing but my point is not wearing glasses would make my lenses thicker?! And I appreciate that you replied to my question! Thanks. Hope your exercise makes my eyes 20/20✨

@@hemlatadevi5488When you pick something with your hand and hold it for a while, after a moment your awareness will eliminate this sensation of holding something. When you are listen to a noise outdoors, after a moment you will also forget about it. It also happens to the eyes, if you do not move your eyes or body, your eyes will lose awareness, but it sends a powerfull signal called blur.
