Tyra is such a bully. Ashley made a valid point about how all the styling changes threw her off and Tyra’s reaction was pure malice. It was the styling-not her. And for Tyra to put that onto her (after the fact, not even woman enough to tell her in the moment) is peak whackness.
@danitini142 жыл бұрын
Exactly - Tyra tries to defend the choice as "if I had said something on set I don't think you could have continued" but because she told Ashley she was doing well and praised her OF COURSE she wasn't going to change what she was doing. So what Tyra was saying essentially translates to "rather than give you a chance to improve so you can stay in this competition, I'm going to tell you afterwards that you sucked." So this poor woman was basically tricked into the bottom 2: brought on set and immediately sent to change, brought out and told to change again which throws her off, brought out and told she's doing well and explicitly not directed to do things differently, and then told AFTER the fact that she was problematic. Now that there's nothing she can do to change or fix it. When each photo shoot or challenge can get you sent home, holding back any critique or advice is sabotage. The photographer/judge/face of the show holding back critique or advice? Cruel.
@84rinne_moo2 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Like it’s easy to understand that could throw someone off. Like give the girl a chance in the outfits first. But even so I expected Tyra might say “your clothes might be changed at shoots for whatever reason and you gotta be able to be on your toes and roll with it and still model through”. But no she went WAY worse we saying “I changed it cause you were failing” like dude

I think it was because you had multiple people assigned to post processing, so of course it’s going to reflect who edited the photos’ opinions and style. This particular "judges restyle a model" with Ashley feels so... contrived. Like she was so quick to ditch the vest it's almost like someone told her to put it on just so Tyra could tell her to take it off. I feel like the first change was because Tyra truly didn’t feel the styling, the second outfit was amazing on the model but she wasn’t really selling it to its full potential, and by the third she was just serving up more of the same. That red option was sassy and full of energy but the model was still doing the same posing and facials that were more suited to the original blander styling. The third outfit was to see if maybe there was a middle ground that would fit her energy for the day and by that point she’d already given up so Tyra had to resort for veiling her face trying to force a more intense look just to get something similar to what the other girls had produced.

Another classic example of production pinning EVERYTHING that went wrong on the model. If Tyra HAD said something to Ashley about how it was difficult, why not let Ashley determine if she really absorbs that honest critique? By assuming Ashley would’ve given up, she took away Ashley’s ability to decide for herself. You know production saw how good this shoot was going, so they had to stir the pot and make someone the sacrificial lamb for a “difficult shoot.” I feel bad for Ashley.

Tyra's attitude towards photography is so ridiculous. It's like all those people who think that because they got a high school diploma, they know all about teaching. They aren't teachers and Tyra's not a photographer.

Tyra did great with the feedback!! This is some of the best feedback on the show from her. Except making that beautiful model change three times.Mean!! The Gollum comments were mean spirited. Her modeling experience can be helpful to the girls,when it's not negative feedback.

Ashley reminds me of the actress Kyla Pratt mixed with Ciara. Pretty girl. Sundai and Jen were my favorites this cycle. I might rewatch these episodes.

this channel is such a gift. antm was a big part of my childhood and being able to see someone go through and point out what it taught me and why it's damaging kind of makes me feel a little less ugly

I think the episodes where Tyra photographed the girls were always my favorite. Cause she almost always went into it with an idea and wasn't afraid to jump around for the shot unlike some shoots where its just so still. And she often gave the girls advice as a model in the scene. I think a lot of the girls could have benefited if she was at every shoot like that, not necessarily as the photographer. Because the advice tended to be more sympathetic and helpful.

I agree Tyra acts her best when she’s there. She doesn’t give good feedback when judging but in the moment she has it.

Tyra only does that when she's taking the pictures so she can look like a good photographer
