I was 6-7yrs old when I saw Jon English at The Workmans Club in Lithgow, in 1983 or 1984. I have always remembered this song! I was mesmerised by this performance. As I had experienced loss n death at an very early age. And the feel's were real.!.. Jon English was my first crush!! As he was the first real famous person I ever seen.. And was his rugger'd, dark, handsome self!! I was also lucky enough to see Cyndi Lauper when I was 10yrs old at The Entertainment Centre, Sydney!!! The only great memories I have as a child, that my mother still had life in her!! Thank U Jon!! for being such an amazing Icon to me!! #JonEnglish #Neverforgotten

I was lucky enough to see Jon and the Foster Bros quite a few times in this era. He was never anything less than excellent live, great singer with really good songs, with a shit hot band, very funny with great rapport and banter with the audience. And like many other comments here this song sent chills up the spine every time. A great entertainer gone too soon, he was the real deal. Thanks Jon.

Oh my god !!!!!! - What a story teller :) TOTALLY MIND BLOWING !!!!! - Just Luv the emotion.... Yes - Suzie WAS REAL - you can tell my Jon's eye's. Still sings this today :) They don't make musicians like that anymore.

I've always loved this song, the story gets shivers down the spine. Jon was one of my superidols companied by Beatles, John Lennon & Chicago. I'm so so sad that he's gone.😓❤

Sad news. 😢 Vale Jon English. Saw Jon perform at the Ainslie Footy Club a long time ago. He was amazing! This song was a standout to me .. so eery it still gives me goosebumps. A very talented man. Thanks for some great memories.

I am really upset that I didn't go to see him at ST George - it was around the time when I did see some acts there - it wasn't a bad venue for that period of time. Shame technology wasn't better back then too to record more of his great live performances - I still feel incredibly sad - I really hope his family are doing ok. I hope the outpouring of love for Jon on these sites gives them some comfort xx We are at least old enough to have enjoyed his talent.
