This legit taps into a fear I had as a kid and still occasionally think about nowadays when laying in bed. It's this fear that someone is going to creep around the doorframe and just watch me. A creature, or person, but the idea that something could slink around the doorway as I lay in bed, maybe even seeing it out of the corner of my eye... It really messed with me. So uh, it's 1am here, and I think I'll shut my door for tonight.

My little 4 year old kid just recently told me that he's afraid of the dark because he's worried that a monster will come and "stand in the doorway and watch me," and then "come over and stand by my bed and look at me," which is somehow FAR more scary than anything else a monster might do. I have chills just thinking about it.

Literally the best podcast ever. I made the mistake of listening to this while I was deer hunting back in November. I thought it would be fun, but it actually managed to freak me out when I came out of the woods at dusk. I would LOVE to see this more often.

The crazy/sad thing about this story, is even if it's not real. Something like this happening is absolutely within the realm of possibility of happening especially when it comes to the human mind breaking. I know it's cliche and has been said plenty of times before, but hands down, the scariest monster you'll ever find is another human.

When i get freaked out for some reason i have to take deep breaths in a random pattern through my nose, i also get almost an inhanced sense of smell for the peeriod of fear i have, its almost like im trying to smell if someone is near. Funny thing is, my wierd smelling fear thing has actually worked once..
@louieo.blevinsmusic41976 ай бұрын
Taking in deep breaths with your nose acts like a natural benzodiazepine by lessening your anxiety. When you’re scared you’ll become hyper focused of your surroundings so that’s probably why you’re even noticing the pattern, which you could be doing to get your mind off of being frightened. Or you’re hyperventilating. lol.
