Looking forward to seeing what you all have in mind to do with the interior of the shed to house build. A tombstone feeder is correct. You could take an old flatbed and weld some poles around it to keep the bales in. Nice package from Butcher box. Nice question and amswer. Stay happy, healthy, hydrated and safe. May God continue to bless you, your family and your adventures.

I saw Chris's video like almost a week ago, but never commented here cause I felt some people on here would freak out so I watched and waited for you. Great choice of what to do on a temp basis. I looked at the same idea, But I am 70 years old and said nope I can't do all of that myself. Right now I live in a tiny house RV and it fits me well. You guys are an Awesome family. God bless and keep on moving forward.

So happy you chose a DIY cabin, wise. I started on my bathroom first and did the kitchen, always wanted a hand pump handle faucet, by next year I'll have the shed brought in that's when my grandkids turn 18 (twins), help them out till they can afford their own place, I still have my travel trailer so both will have their own temporary housing. As for those donkeys, give them a couple of sugar cubes, eat out of your hand, Junior my long ago donkey loved them.

We had 20 plus acres, and with careful management, we did a heck of a lot! We managed to hay 10 acres, and by selling what we didn't need we paid for all the feed we used finishing our meat animals. We didn't overwinter anything but the kids horses. The hay covered all their expenses for the year too.

We had a 16 x36 cabin and loved it. It had a 10" high wall on one side for 15" which made a large cathedral ceiling in the living room. We wished we had added the ten ft walls down both sides so that the loft areas would be taller. More room to stand upright. We had lots of Windows added. Anyway I hope you love yours as much as we did ours.

Rae when you get your Brahma be sure it wasn’t a rodeo bull in the past. When my late husband and I were dating he had to drive through a pasture to get to my house. If the bill was in that pasture it would chase my husband’s car! So glad when my daddy built a real driveway to the house that wasn’t in the pasture!

I think Junebug in particular, but all of them, got used to having Grandpa spending time just chilling with them and telling them about the price of fish - they wil hear echoes of his voice in Chad's, too, so feel comfortable that hte herd boss is still spending time with them - more hand fed cubes, Chad, and they will trade you for fly spray - also, Kyle got a solar bug zapper just recently - maybe check with him if it's as good as he hoped - if you have a few inthe farm pow wow patch, all of the free rangers might be happy to benefit from a reduced fly space?

No I did not know about your new shed/home coming, what a wonderful idea. As far as Adler, when you described how active he was and early riser and late to bed, I thought you just described my son when he was that age. At the time I did not know and l learned later he in fact had ADD. It sure did explain it all to me. That boy had energy to burn, play in his bed for hours before falling asleep and wake up in the middle of the night and wonder. At 2 he would climb out of his crib to play. We had to put a reverse lock on his door and said you may get up and play then get back into bed with rails down. If you need anything just knock on the door and we would be right there. It solved a lot of sleepless nights and he got to play safely and go to bed when he was tired. You both are wonderful parents.

I'm excited to see what you do to the cabin after it arrives. It may be interesting living there . It was normal in the 50's & 60's to have one bathroom no matter how many people lived in the house & we made it work. Of course, you can always have an "out house" where you will live... I just love Butcher Box. The steaks & roasts are so tender, you don't need a knife. The chicken has a really delicious flavor & so does the pork. It is so different from supermarket meats & I don't think I can ever go back. There is no flavor in supermarket meats & I know that the chicken is not coming from China where it was processed with Butcher Box. I live in Florida & the box is packed with dry ice & super insulation & the contents have always been frozen. My next box arrives in a couple of days, & I can't wait! I do hope you & Rae & especially the boys are wearing sunscreen & bug repellent. There was no sunscreen when I was young & I have had several skin cancers removed & have sun damage on my face. It takes years to show up. Rae especially with her beautiful skin needs to be careful. Advice from an old lady.
