Follow up to the DIY Shed Pad video. A brief tour of the inside of the custom shed as requested by many viewers. Could this be made into a tiny house? I'm not sure but it would be interesting to hear your thoughts. Thanks for watching!

What company built it? Cheaper to buy vs build?
@VintageWoodWorkshop

Peter Pawlak it was built by Eastern wood building's in Fleetwood, PA. I definitely considered building it but it came down to a couple things: time, cost, and looks. Time: I know I would have taken most of the summer working on it by myself and we wanted to remodel the kitchen too which was more of a priority. They had it built to our specs in 2-3 weeks before the summer even started😁 Cost: while not cheap, $3500, it would have cost me something close to that in materials, not to mention time. I haven't built a shed before like this from the ground up so there would have been a big learning curve. Sheds seem to be a big business here in "Amish" country and this was built by Mennonites (not as strict as Amish in their use of power tools) who don't charge outrageous fees. Looks: my wife wanted it to match our house in style and color scheme so it just made sense that they could match it almost identically with vinyl siding color, trim, shingles and shutters. So those we're all the contributing factors in making the decision to order it. Hope that helps!

@@VintageWoodWorkshop for 3500 i think youre right it wouldve been close to that in materials, seems like a good deal. i highly doubt i can find a shed built for that price here in long island where i live.

Vintage Wood Workshop That is a pretty good price, especially considering lumber prices in January 2021! I’ve been pricing out a very similar shed although without the dormer and with LP smart panel siding here in southern Ontario. Smaller than yours at 8x12. City restricts the size to 108 sq. ft. Without a permit. A 10 by 10 would cost a couple hundred more so wondering if the extra 4 sq ft is worth it? They will do the 8x12 studs on 16” centres, 2x6 treated joists, treated plywood floor, delivered and built on site on blocks for $3600 Canadian $’s including the 13% provincial & federal taxes. It would cost me that to build a 10x10 for materials alone. Although if I built it myself I would do the soffit and facia in aluminum. The built shed would not be aluminum s&f. I also like the idea of the wire mesh for the critters but I think I’d back it up with screen material to keep the wasps, hornets and bees from going under to build nests....just in case.

Nice job. What a nice all American family. Glad you include your daughter in your projects. Always let her sign and date the project. I did with mine and now I’m 72 and it means a lot to both of us.

I have an extremely large backyard with a shed...after watching your video, it's given countless ideas in how I can tackle this shed to make it my First She Shed. I would like to build a loft, however, I have yet to find your How-To video in building one. Until then, keep up your great tutorial videos.

Simon B thanks, I really want to keep it looking like this and not let it get filled up with a bunch of clutter. I'm getting better at tossing things but that's a tough battle because I like to save materials for future use (I like to be prepared). Laurel is a great worker and loves making cards and signs for any occasion! Thanks again for watching!

.great shed. I just ordered the same shed but bigger 12 by 16 , called the Hampton, same as yours but wit h an extra door. Its made by Leonard in N.C. ,Its gonna cost $8500 ! 😫 Luckily that includes delivery and install. 3500 for your shed was a steal ! Love that dormer, I wondered if it leaks in a windy rainstorm, any advice ?

I am a big fan of getting the lawnmower and other yard tools out of the garage. I hate a garage that stinks like lawnmowers, weedeaters and chainsaws. I have to say though, the snow blower caught me off guard. I figured you were too far south to need a snow blower!
@VintageWoodWorkshop

Yeah, it was 8 long years with all that in the garage so we're enjoying it! we do get a lot of snow here and every few years we get whacked with one of those 20+ inch storms. Thanks for watching brother!

Thanks Robert, yes it might be a good idea depending on where you live. We get high winds up to 55-60 during violent thunderstorms and my shed has been unaffected so far. I didn't bolt mine down.
