William is such a blessing for you both. Industrious, great attitude, and a servant minded approach to his work with you. All of the items he has built look great and you will get years of use from them for sure. Can't wait to see them in action, and I hope you can convey to him that all of us viewers love what he has done, and appreciate his service to you. It's wonderful when the modern people can work so well and have a great reciprocal relationship with the Amish community in area where they live and thrive.

I missed you Wednesday but everyone needs a day off to do other things. I only was anxious to thank you for getting my calendar to me so quickly and opening up to January was a very nice surprise seeing Ken and Buck standing tall. It’s so bittersweet but again, even Buck needed to be able to cross over to his forever home. I always wonder what Ken thinks of his lost partner but since I don’t speak horse tongue I’m thinking we may never know. Skippy is just too cute for words and he is showing his full puppy side with Ken in today’s vlog. Growing fast too…just like Bree and it’s almost shocking how dark Bree’s coat turned since she was born. It’s so fun to see all the changes going on at the Gordon’s farm especially with Williams help on the new structures and I’m certain you will sell them. Again thanks for enlightening and entertaining us each visit…it’s a pleasure and a highlight of my day. You have about as much snow over in your community as we do here in Michigan which isn’t much! Happy 2024 stay warm and safe until we next visit!!!:):):)

I love William's sheds and the hay feeders..I don't care for the metal for ones..last year an acquaintance lost a large steer when a round bale fell out of the feeder and smothered/crushed him in the surrouunding mud..yours are very impressive..wish I lived nearer..I'd be buying these and the sheds..quality workmanship at a decent price is always visible to the naked eye.. Brenda..your little Skippy is such a joy to watch..he's just trying to entertain himself..dogs do love snow!.. Ilovemy calendar..I found your channel maybe a day or two after you lost Buck..what a gorgeous picture for January..thank you for sharing. .as always prayers and blessings

I like the roof on your feeders. I built some 30 years ago that didn't have a roof. On mine the side opened up with large strap hinges to put the bale in because I didn't have forks on my tractor, I only had a spear. We used them for our young stock. My father-in-law had some rough cut planks cut with one end like a ski to make a stone boat. If I remember correctly they were 3 inches thick by 12 inches wide. They floated on the mud pretty good.

Your feeders are a real saving. They do what you designed them to do, keeping the hay off the ground, and giving some protection from weather. My son's horses waste a lot of hay even with the round bale feeder. He would benefit from one of your feeders. However, he's in Georgia, a little too far to ship or pick-up. Your William is a good addition to your farm. He seems very talented, resourceful, and dedicated.

Nice project for those feeding round bales! I would suggest adding steel loops to the runners for towing! They could be made with strap steel shaped in a U , extending back along the top of each runner about 15/18 inches with a minimum of 2 - 1/2" bolts through both sides of the steel and through the runner. This puts the pull on the entire structure instead of just one board! Pulling from both runners also eliminates the "whipping" from side to side you may get with just one hitch point in the center of the feeder!

I bought a used "Hay hut" made of plastic and no bottom. Easy enough to lift over a round bale. It works well but once the hay gets low and strong wind will send it rolling. Also will crack.

A thought, put "tent stakes" in the corners, a door hinge low, drill a 1/2" hole and pound a J rebar into the ground flap, maybe a foot long, you may use 4 in the corners but may get away with 2 , one on each side. Set a rock on top of the stake. Or just a rock lip sheet medal corner bracket to set a rock on. (Assuming you have rocks around)
