Tapasya episode 51 - Baby steps for Krishnashtami - Sridevi Nrithyalaya - Bharathanatyam Dance

Which child can resist the call of such maternal love by such beautiful girls in pure ecstasy ? Two funny incident come to mind as I am seeing this beautiful video on Krishna. The first one is from my own experience and the second one is what I have heard from the others. Everytime I and my students used to sing a song on Krishna requesting Him to come to us a beautiful child - a tiny toddler from the house downstairs - would climb all the 28 steps with great difficulty and appear at my doorstep. It would happen everytime we sing that particular song. We would all be waiting for him to appear at any moment. The second is an incident from the then famous dancing star Kumari Kamala's dance recital. Apparently one of the audience went onto the stage unable to resist her call of love and affection. I am giving the song on Krishna ( my own composition) in which each line stars with a tamil vowel.

Madam, Krishna nee began baro is not a Purandara dasa's Krithi. Mostly it's written by Vyasarayaru. Few scholars says, it's not written by Vyasaraya also. But definitely not Purandara Dasara's krithi.

Agree. It doesn't end with "Purandara vitthala". Believed to be composed by Purandara dasara guru Vyasarayaru. Wordings are said to match with new Kannada, not the language used back then.

Retaining the authentic and unique aspects of Barathanatyam such as 'Abinayams' in this changing world is a very unique challenge. Your school is doing an outstanding job in the face of this challenge. One can see that the artform is safe for the foreseeable future with the next generation of artists who are being moulded under your stewardship. Thank you and keep it up. If you are able to please train some children from Sri Lanka and other south Asian countries too so that this amazing artform is alive beyond India too. The diaspora organisations should be able to fund such a project.
