My opinion- Gep is a spirit who saves people who the Winds do not want dead. That's why he comes at your time of need, yet doesn't want to be found, and seems to have some kind of healing abilities.

2h version is one of the best weapons for dealing with groups. Hitting multiple enemies with a single swing will proc an aoe blast on each enemy, tripling or even quadrupling your damage output :D

I think that with the manawall armor would be a really fun builds to run. So much AOE damage with the ethereal bonus.

Ah yes one of my favorite weapons from Caldera. I really liked it as a side-arm for when my Ethereal character was out of mana to make more mana swords, but it's definitely strong enough to be a main weapon. Keep up the good work Sheen

I think the longsword is better if you are going for a main weapon, just because the one-handed version doesn't have as much knockback power as I would like.

I feel a little called out... "one of many people who likes to hoard cool stuff". Look I can't help it! Not my fault that this game has a lot of shiny stuff, if only you could upgrade your home to have displays and stuff... perhaps I shall ask the peeps in the modding community if they think it is possible. Great video tho, very helpful for a collector like me. I haven't made my way to Caldrea yet, but there is a lot of good shinnies to gather it seems. Edit: maybe I should look to getting the black pearlbird mask because I behave like a crow.

Lol I think most of us that play Outward are collectors at this point. I believe I have covered every unique weapon in Caldera now so should be a lot easier to find them all!

I'm thinking of pairing this with the ritualist drums and chimera pistol, seems like a neat combo. Then maybe throw in a cannon pistol, pain stab/ pain shot, and spin kick for memes

It would pair pretty well with that combo I think. Chimera pistol goes with everything, and Geps sword si strong against almost anything except ancient dwellers. You would have a build that would walk through most of the enemies in the game lol.

Thank you for the vid, I can get to 4 of those 5 locations within 12 game hours, but the Mysterious Longblade has yet to show up even with multiple spanned out trips to Caldera. Does one have to have A Fallen City quest active, or do I need to keep slogging along? I've finished my faction quest line, but have yet to start Fallen. The best weapon in my opinion the long blade version and the coolest looking too. It shreds gargoyles once buffed with a spiritual varnish and a shimmer potion I wish I knew about this awesome sword earlier would have made the game easier and more fun for me

Literally the only thing I don't like about this weapon is the fact that the explosions are extremley distracting in multiplayer. It's hard enough for my allies to land counters on an enemy constantly changing aggro, now do it when the enemy is hidden by my super cool explosions lmao.

I see what you mean. Me and my brother did a playthrough one time where we both enchanted virgin knuckles with the same AoE element explosion. I was ice and he was fire. We were both hitting things so quickly with large detonations that it was very blinding and the frames were iffy at best lol. So I guess my point is, I see what you mean lol

I'm beginning to think that the Mysterious Long Blade does NOT exist in my third build's game; been to Caldera 14 spaced out times, and this blade has not been in the 4 locations I have access to. I've swept back and forth on multiple occasions during a game day, nothing. Yeah, I could "shenanigan" it, but that's not earning it for the build. Anyway, anyone else come across this situation?

There just needs to be more enemies and patrols and random events, it just kinda feels empty with a lot of spots having like one enemy lmao

Random events like ransacked caravans, giant tribes to trade with, roaming enemies fighting each other. Even a few more encounters like that as you walk around would improve the open world feel.

It's not bad for the start of the game, but as a weapon that requires farming bosses, it sucks. The devs are obligated to release another dlc revealing the ethereal build, perhaps it will be the quest line for scourge. Most likely it was implied, because we have passive skills for +40 to hp, mp, sp, as well as +25 to hp, sp and ... nothing. Passive 1 tier skill for +25 mana never appeared. There is no Ethereal build at the moment, because it will be much more effective (even for a mage) to take a tsar sword with a whiplash, as well as a lexicon enchanted for a bonus of physical damage.

Manawall makes ethereal builds really good, but it takes a long time to farm the armor out and then legacy chest it. Plus you have the rune mage that does a lot of mana which I think most people go for instead, so ya that makes sense.

Hey Sheen, I recently got the mysterious longblade and 3 gep's drinks, I've completed my faction quest and have started the 3 brothers questline, when I go to craft/awaken the sword with the 3 drinks it just says "Invalid Combination" ? What am I doing wrong?

Well you shouldn't even need to do your faction or three brothers quest for this to work. I would make sure you are using the blade and three geps drinks in the crafting section of your inventory. The wiki says it can't be done if you enchanted it. But other than that it should work. Maybe try moving zones or reloading the game?

@@SheenShots tried all of that and it's definitely not enchanted, I got the geps drinks from the defeat scenario and not the ones in Caldera, maybe that's it? I've tried everything and it just won't work, even changed it from the 2h to the 1h

The explosion scales with ethereal I believe. It is a very odd sword that does insane damage, but since the ethereal blast is actually ethereal I have been told it scales with that rather than physical.

@@SheenShots if thats the case and it does scale with ethereal it could be a nice sword to have in the backpack if you are doing hex mage, since traditionally they are not great at multiple enemies and they also usually go hard elemental with like rust lich or something like that, interesting option

There was a new update that added these drops to unique enemies. Only the mini bosses that do not respawn will drop them. But it means you don't have to do arenas necessarily which is nice.

If you are not seeing it, then it is likely on that other island past the bridge. I recommend sleeping a few days, or leaving the region. This should reload its spawn.

The mysterious long sword won't move for me, keep trying to find it and ive been going to the 4 spots that iam able to look for it at but no matter how many times I travel to a different zone an back or how many days I rest it won't spawn at one of those 4 spots. Do I have to beat my faction first to get new Sirocco first? This is dumb
