The Laotians (large group at work) that I met were among some of the nicest people ever. I am proud of them as true Americans. This is coming from a perspective of admiration and not sympathy. My grandpa and I would watch the B52's fly out, on their way to Vietnam, on what seemed to be all day long ( surely not), so long ago. Oblivious to the true meaning, or was it meaningless? Yet "THEY" still kill in the same old way, whether "we" like it or not, and we get the blame for not stopping it. I left the Navy, "San Diego", in 1986 , after my 5 years, 3 months and 17 days. Wish I would have stayed, because the US wasn't killing people, "generally"(Not to consider "Proxy wars") in the internment of what would have been my stint. I toured the Missouri when I guess it was still in mothballs. I was on the Big O "O'Callahan", they restored it, rented it and then sent it to China to be shredded up.
