Careful buying the tiny succulents. Sometimes they don't have roots and it's just a cutting in dirt

I love these colourful plant info tags! You can immediately see if this plant is suited for a place near the South facing window (sunny room, red) or rather fo a shadowy spot (cool room, blue) or something in between (warm room, yellow or even shady room, green). More nurseries and big box stores should include these...

Those Calathea you found near the rubber plants are actually Ctenanthe and they’re so much hardier! Their leaves are waxy and they’re no where near as fussy, one of my absolute favourites! Also pretty fast growers!

Hello Richard, thank you so much for all your videos. In your UK store you have a great choice of tropical plants! And sold so big. I've never seen an anthurium with so many flowers sold in Mauritius, we mainly have baby plants in nurseries.The plant with the red and yellow flower next to the Tillandsia that you chose, is a Vriesa Splendens, seen in 24:11. I have it in my garden in Mauritius and the flower lasts for months! Then it will die and one or 2 more plants will grow next to it. It is the beginning of summer here and all the outdoor plants are blooming, specially the bougainvilleas, plumbagos and frangipanes. Thanks for the sharing.

The Bellflowers at 21:36 are perennials, bloom from late spring thru summer, even to fall. if you deadhead old blooms. Interesting to see if they bloom year long in a house. They are outside hardy into a USA zone 3, which is montana where we get -30 F / -34 C in the winter. The roots still live and come back every year, each year the plant gets bigger. I have some that lasted over 8 years in my garden. slow growing, not rampant, likes full sun but can handle part shade. Great plants outside, love to try some inside.

23:20 “I can’t find any pots.” An entire room straight ahead filled with pots. 😂 Thanks for this video. I know it’s a year old, but it fulfilled my craving to go plant shopping…. Or maybe it made it worse. I’m not sure yet. 😅

The one that looks like a calathea is a Ctenanthe burle-marxii amabilis. It's a very easy house plant, and one beginners should choose instead of calathea 👍🏼

I believe that the white spots on Jade plants are natural wax and because it is cold it has not melted and so it looks like white spots.
@SheffieldMadePlants2 жыл бұрын
Isn’t it salts from the water?
@thecoolwitch6 ай бұрын
It’s a sign that the plant has an excess of water stored in its leaves. These spots are like little sweat droplets, and guess what? They’re super easy to wash off. They won’t harm your plant. The white spots are made of lime or salts.

I came here to say that you gave me a bit of a giggle and I appreciated it when you said the Venus Fly Traps looked a bit wet. They’re bog plants and love soaked medium. Bromeliad or however you spell it flowers only once in its life.A lot of people throw them away after flowering but if you keep it it might produce pups but it could be years before the babies will flower.
