I completely disagree that the memory of people is very short term. That means that you haven’t really seen the desperation of people here in Bangladesh against a regime which has made it almost impossible to speak the truth. I am sure those who really understand and analyze the diplomatic relationship perspective from an unbiased stand, India must realize that for one specific person who is accused of criminal charges cannot be kept even as a guest. Well there can be debate on whether the judicial system can move these processes quite fast but that doesn’t make the whole scenario any pleasant either. You have to understand the fact that an autocratic government with a psychopath as its centre cannot flourish.

Obviously, even East Pakistan and Bangladesh, except the time of Sheikh Hasina and her father's administration ( that's only 24 years only) had always been an adversary of India anyway. After all East Bengali Muslims actually were responsible for partitioning Indian in 1947. They were hostile during 47 to 71. Even during Mukti Juddha , a large number of East Pakistanis were against liberation and India. And then from 75 to 2006 Bangladesh govts had been adversary. So, the Bangladeshi muslims were anyway, enemy of India always. They were involved in all kind of terrorist activities against India. Also infiltrated into India. It was only Awyami league govt , that had been friendly and supportive to India.

Because Jinnah always wanted united India in 1937-1940 he even worked as a middle man for working with chittaranjan and bengal pact. So he never wanted india to be seperate. But due to indian hindus in 1937 muslims were forced to remember hindu dominance before 1905 (bangavangha). Even Nehru wanted to become the pm of india. He was so ambitious that riots in 1942 and 1946 happened. So it is not bengal muslims rather hindus of rss who are to be blamed. Bengali nation has always been secular natured and they will form akhand Bengal like 1905 again very quickly. Your Mamta di will beg us for integration of w bengal in Bangladesh. Just wait and watch.

And Fazlul haq was the proposer. And In 1937 Fazlul haq actually, tied with Shyama Prasad Mukherjee ( independent) to form an absolute Muslim majority govt in Bengal. Before that , Muslims supported partition of Bengal and when it was cancelled, became very angry upon Britishers to threaten to rebel. Hence the British agreed upon separate communal electorate proposal from Muslims. In 1940s there was no RSS at all. Read these history and then talk.
