thank u so much for this clarification. all we need is for younger generations to believe love is not needed. that's precisely why each verse ends in "without love, it Ain't Much"! ALSO (to Jack Reacts) listen to every verse carefully. the song tells a story -- in the end, she came across a man, they made love & "by the 7th wave [a/k/a climax], she knew she had a problem. she thought 'REAL love is REAL scary [but] money only pays the rent. Love is forever & that's all your life...' ". She realized that REAL love IS 'glamorous'. ~ b.
@aishastaggers99133 жыл бұрын
I think it is more that her obsession with living glamorously has to be matched by a man who can provide, but also give the love she seeks, but he also has to have conversations skills because "boys with small talk" don't impress her. She wants her equal. Her twin soul. Which makes sense Prince, the eternal Gemini, would write it this way.

She has a virtual jam session with young aspiring girl drummers. You can see the admiration and geeked out joy they get to play with and speak to her. One girl was all the way in Japan and woke up at 4am her time to do a jam session with her and get to talk to her. So inspiring to females. Lenny Kravitz's female drummer is kickass too. I don't know her name though. "FLY AWAY" and "ARE YOU GONNA GO MY WAY" are my favorites videos to watch her go in on them drums.

Sheila was a musical hero of mine growing up. I wanted to be a badass drummer like her. Joined the high school band to learn how, but it was already taken. Ended up playing alto sax. But this woman was fearlessly fabulous and not afraid to go hard....especially touring with Prince. Fun Facts: If you heard a male adlib in there, it was Prince. She had her brother in the band. He had the glasses on. Family affair. She was in the movie Krush Groove. That is a 80's throwback that was definitely a sign of the times. Everybody that was hot at the time was on it: Run DMC, Fanboys, New Edition, Curtis Blow, Sheila E, Full Force (as hired muscle).....a very young Blair Underwood as Russel Simons. It's loosely based off of Run and his brother Russel getting their label together, and working with Rick Reuben.
