It was so refreshing to see a sustainability content creator take a science-based approach to fluoride. So many people in the zero-waste space blindly accept the notion that "fluoride = bad" and it can be really frustrating for someone who DOES want it in their dental products. Thank you for voicing your own (evidence-based) view on the subject!

I never bothered reading up on flouride thing and just used my normal toothpaste. Why do people hate flouride?
@hillwalk243 жыл бұрын
@@valesth4903 Some people think it's meant to subdue the population but it was just added to water to combat tooth decay. But it's only doing that job as it's in the mouth. So there's no reason to drink it all day. I want flouride in my dental hygiene products but not in my water. It can leach lead and other heavy metals from aging pipes. I'm thankful Shelbi found a tooth tab with flouride. That's been on my needs list for awhile.

Your last swap reminded me of when I lived in South Korea, there were some restaurants that would have delivery food given to you on their own restaurant plates/bowls etc, and when you finished eating, you could just set everything outside your door and they would come back a few hours later to pick it up. I thought it was really neat! It would be cool if the US could do something similar.

The Package says it dissolves in water and I always put them into the garbage for tampons and stuff in case they are not trustable. I guess they are not super good for the environment but as long as you do your best to reduce plastic you can. I just can’t live without em

I would love to be the kind of spokesperson you are in my own town. I live in South Africa and there are very few of the products you recommend without having to pay $$$$ for shipping (as well as the carbon emissions impact). Hopefully I can find swaps that make sustainable living a bit easier here 🇿🇦🥰

I’ve used Pela for my past two IPhones and it has such great coverage. I can be exceptionally clumsy at times and I haven’t even had glass crack!

I'm so excited about the tooth tabs in the US WITH FLOURIDE. It's been driving me insane that US zero waste companies would only make fluoride-free tooth tabs (made especially absurd when those brands would flavor the tooth tabs with peppermint ESSENTIAL OILS, which are super dangerous to consume even in very ver small quantities, instead of food-grade peppermint extract 🤦♀️). Thank you for constantly searching for sustainable brands and keeping us up to date on your finds. 😊❤️

When you send the lotion bottles back do you send a bunch of them at once and do you wash them out first ? Love your videos ✨💫

I'm curious as well. I wonder how cost effective it is to constantly be shipping bottles back to company's to refill and the cost of sending them back 🤷

I am also wondering about the carbon footprint of shipping things back and forth.

I just bought a secondhand soda stream too! I love sparkling water and finally decided to buy a used soda stream as a cheaper and package free way to make my own sparkling waters. I’m gonna try flavoring with some homemade bitters, and citrus juices

FINALLY a pro-science sustainability influencer! My colgate toothpaste is getting low and I'm ready to make the switch to tablets, but I couldn't find one with fluoride until this video. I clicked to buy HumanKind tablets so fast. Can't wait to try them!

I am so glad you mentioned SodaStream! I am from Hungary, live in Austria. I basically only drink fizzy water - I am just not a fan of how still water tastes for some reason-, and since I got my Soda Stream 2 years ago I didnt buy one fizzy drink in a plastic bottle. And honestly, it's so much cheaper as well. Here the refills cost 8 euros, which is literally the cost of 6 sodas, and I have fizzy water (to my liking) for over a month with one refill. I just love it, it's definitely a basic item for me that I use every day ❤️

I've literally had a human kind tooth tab kit in my cart for weeks. But I think I'm finally inspired enough to hit buy.

This gardyn has me intrigued. I live in Illinois where growing food year round is impossible. Off to do some research!

Also in IL, have a black thumb so not optimistic about my ability to grow food when I can't keep a shrub alive lol.

I would recommend checking out the channel MIgardener. He is in Michigan, so definitely cold weather like Illinois. He has some videos about cold weather gardening. You can’t really grow enough to live off of in the winter, but there are certain varieties of things like kale, radishes, etc that are extremely cold tolerant and will grow through December and beyond.

you should try the rocketbook! it’s a reusable notebook, and you write on it with the pen sent with it, and then you can just use water to get the ink off. and to keep notes, you download the rocketbook app, and you can scan the pages

I have one. I use it for notes but I prefer to plan this way. It works well for me so I’m sticking with it

I used my postnatal squeeze bottle way after I stopped needing it because it makes you feel so much cleaner.
