Shelby GT350 Steeda Clutch Spring Upgrade

Hey Matt, I'm thoroughly enjoying all of your videos; many thanks for taking the time to create and post them. I completely removed the assister spring assembly from my GT350 and it made a very positive difference. Some guys have said that they've experienced play at the top end of the peddle with and without the Steeda assister spring, so I feel fortunate that mine has zero play without it. I've also installed the MGW shifter which I have to say has transformed the driving experience for the better IMO. Looking forward to more updates. All the best, Chris.

I'm very interested to see if Ford goes with a softer spring rate from the factory for MY2018. There are a ton of people who have switched out for the Steeda spring. Quite frankly, I have no idea what they were thinking with the stock spring.

Although I wish there was an interior upgrade package to get rid of some plastic, this is easily one of the best sport cars to own.

the GT350 spring is alot different of a setup already then the GT,V6 and Ecoboost springs. curious to know if it made a difference..

Correct. You can use the factory piece.

Hey Matt, love your stuff. Got my 2017 GB GT350 one month ago (love) I had test driven one and first thing I noticed was the pedal throw so that was the first mod after seeing your vid. Are you still happy?

My focus st has the same clutch spring, it's awful and I wont to get rid of it so badly

It's a pretty cheap and easy thing to do.

I took the spring out for a bit but it is loose and floppy, there isn't anywhere I could find that makes a focus st one because the part it goes on is a bit bigger then the one you have. I'm sure steeda will make on eventually, but I definitely need that if they do it.

I found out my GT 350 R cobra doesn’t even have a clutch spring or resonators I’m always seen videos of everybody taking those off and changing the springs on the clutch I think you guys just need to buy a GT 350 R lol

I went in to replace this on my 2019 GT 350. To my surprise, the car does not have one installed from the factory. Instead there is a spring wrapped around on top. When I tried to use this spring, the clutch felt too easy to press. Any suggestions? That's by design. Meaning, "This is how I do something", not "This is how to do something." If people don't get that, then they are making up a bunch of stuff that I'm not saying. I do my best to not make definitive statements when it pertains to subjects that are not definitive. People also tend to make up a bunch of stuff when I state the price of something. Price is a fact. The rest of the emotion being attached to it when someone thinks I'm showing off or some other past experience is something I didn't intend.
