Yellow is paper white is synthetic media. Synthetic media filters better at higher efficiency flow rates as he states. However good luck finding a 2087 right now. Id say it's most likely champion labs making it. It probably was a move to avoid warranty for blown up engines. Pass the price on to us the owners.

Great Video, thanks for the great info. I just looked for one and they are 3X the price.
@AlexAutoFun3 жыл бұрын
You're welcome! Glad it was helpful, but yeah I think we are seeing a price hike due to the current shortage of materials in the car industry (well in several industries lol) but it may also be tied to the filter now being the choice of filter for the GT500 and GT350, where before it shared a filter with the standard Mustangs where maintenance parts are expected to be lower, so It's like the famous Corvette tax on their aftermarket parts, we may just be being charged a "premium" attached to the Shelby name...
@marcoscagliarini65152 жыл бұрын
The new filter has been introduced becouse of the engine performance , oil flow and oil pressure top requirements. I suggest not to use the 2062 in the GT500 , or use it at your risk and only for a very short period of time , until you get the 2087 !! the 2062 will not resist to the engine performance requrements . We produce both filters for the OEM first equipment engine application, unfortunatelly very recently Motorcraft has moved to a " different" solution for the 2062, but only for the aftermarket and not fo rthe OEM engine first equipment.........
@AlexAutoFun2 жыл бұрын
Yep! fully agree, using 2062 on a GT500 is asking for trouble and possible warranty issues since 2062 was specified for the G350 not the GT500. But that is very interesting, sounds like there may be a third filter in the works since they are moving away from 2062? or maybe just a supplier change? thanks for sharing with us bud!
@sgt_oj4 жыл бұрын
That would make sense that the 2087 is higher flow and more efficient, the 5w50 oil used in the GT500 would definitely need as much flow as it can get while still being well filtered vs the ecoboost standard 5w30

Hi GuardGreen 5.0, I have to agree with completely bud, that makes sense to me, the cost of the filter is not too bad either, cheap insurance IMO! thanks for watching!

I just did an oil change yesterday with FL2062. 3,725 miles on a ‘17 GT350 It should be okay, but I’ll get the updated one for next change.

Nice! perfect timing on your oil change. I did something similar since I had bought extra FL2062s before the change I'm depleting them before I move to the other filter. Thanks for watching bud!

Is there any alternative part number or supplier for FL 2087?
@AlexAutoFun3 жыл бұрын
Hi Shine Love! they keep selling out whenever Amazon stocks it (it seems to be due to the current supply chain bottleneck) but here is what some folks are using as an alternative K&N Performance Filter amzn.to/3IsfLtk if you don't want to use FL-2062 (what I'm using currently while more FL-2087 arrive) Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

The long block on my 2017 GT 350 needed to be replaced at 12,500 miles due to excessive oil consumption. The 2062 filter was used from the beginning and during replacement. When the oil and filter were changed at about 500 miles on the new block, Ford made sure that the dealer now used the 2087 filter. I wonder if the 2062 filter collapsed or couldn't handle the engine. Regardless, in my opinion be wary of using the 2062 filter - I would not.

Have you noticed the FL2062-A or even the FL2062 now. It doesn’t have the plastic end caps. Is there a reason for that? I have a 2015 Edge Sport 2.7L EcoBoost.

Anyone notice their gt350 running much higher oil pressure with the new 2087?
@AlexAutoFun3 жыл бұрын
Hi ASCBLUEYE! I actually didn't think of comparing oil pressures before and after, are you using a data logger to capture them or are you just manually looking at the gage? I still have another FL-2062 here, next oil change I'll try to see if I can compare pressures..
@ASCBLUEYE3 жыл бұрын
@@AlexAutoFun no logger but it’s definitely 15-20 psi higher on my 18 and two other 16’s as well in our group
@AlexAutoFun3 жыл бұрын
@@ASCBLUEYE Oh wow that's interesting, if you can share the PSI reading at specific RPM's that may help the rest of us to have something to compare to. I would think that a media change should have some change on pressure so I definitely believe that it can happen. Also do you know if anyone has contacted Ford to inquire about this? (considering on our cars they are phasing out the 2062 in favor of the 2087) if not I'll try to send an email to them see if we can get some info..
