Why couldn't you make the five parts into one video? I've watched many iterations of this story but Peter added enough to make it very worthwhile.

Thank u so much as a racer, this part when Pete talks about the Le mans test day...and what unfolds the events an how his creation worked is my favorite part because as a collector,I'm like Bruce an Carrol I want build my own car and race it successfully so this is the pinnacle part of achievement and work....justification...getting to go your way and acknowledgement.

I work in prototype automotive as a fabricator and we do some cool projects similar. Damn I would have loved to been part of this era. I bet the term it worked in CAD wasn't around back then. I swear I think that's the engineers favorite phrase. It is a cool career. Not the most lucrative but I can say I had a part in some ground breaking projects. We are entering a new era of automotive where the wheel gets reinvented daily by fabricator and engineer. I just wish the pay reflects the difficulty level of being a fabricator. It's like 3 trades in one. Welding alum stainless mild. Manual and cnc machining and even programming which I'm not there yet. And then metal modeling brake press roller and other manual tools. To be halfway good at all of that and working on major auto company prototype should be at least a 30$ hr job. But the work is so interesting it almost makes up for the pay and early hours and the non disclosure of what I work on. But to be part of a racing program I bet some of the guys would have almost done it for free. Great interview. Wish I was of that era

Yeah one thing a race at Le Mans is all aero I don't like the aero package they set in these Simulators for Le Mans because it offers no front grip and no down force to enhance cornering I use a med down force so I can make up and attack the corner and brake hard if u have an aero issue at le mans u will know in a half a lap or mostly half way down the first long straight...its so fast everywhere aero is the most important thing at speed of 100 or more

If GT 40s were no good and had lots of problems then how did win at LeMans 4 years in a row. But that was a pretty neat idea for the Daytona coupe

All common sense guys....hands on when I was in school I had metal shop but the reason it was good was because the teacher was the best....he was an army helicopter pilot those guys don't play around....he was alway reminding to wear my glasses I listen and he was happy I was learning from him...I got the impression most kids were resisting...funny part it was a Ford driven sponsored high school my town was one of three to build the TBirds went they came out we were the T Birds like the movie grease...the auto shop teacher was the only one left that looked like he walked out of the movie...

If they would have stuck with the Daytona instead of the Gt40 Ken Miles would probably still be alive.

The Cobra Daytona was 100% built in USA, instead of the GT 40 that was British, save the Engine !

Much of the GT40 work on the chassis and body was done in the U.S. at Shelby American, Kar-Kraft and Holman Moody, so we did so much more than stuff an engine in it!. 🤠
