I can so relate to this. As a kid, I “find it hard to talk and speak my mind”. I was never diagnosed, because my parents thought it was a shame for the whole family to have a disturbed child. I was also bullied at school and my parents said it was my fault because I was weird. They told me to stop being weird, then people will like me. Now I’m 35 and I still have communication issues. @@elinakezbere no life is worthless. There is a lot people with autism but not always it is as visible. Many people think that autism is horrible health issue that make you unable to prosper in life, while in reality there is wide range of problems related to autism and some of them easy allow to life normally. You will never know if you have it or not unless you go visit specialist, but don't doubt yourself. Being yourself is most beautiful thing, never give it up. If people say things like you mentioned to you, then they don't really try to understand you and your problems. Them being not understanding doesn't mean you are wrong, that only prove that they have issues with noticing that you have problem and need help. If you can, try to contact specialist, while it may cost some, they are educated to help people with problems, and while people around you might doubt you, they will should never doubt specialist, and they should understand how wrong they were. This song literally made me cry. I can relate to it on so many levels. When I was young i had so many problems with communicating and accepting myself. I was trying to blend with everyone trying to be like everyone else, forgetting who i really am. I have so many scars that will never be fully healed inside of me from time when i was not accepting myself. I never had anyone that i could talk about my problems and my own mind was my hell. Only when i was 23(27 now) i met my current fiance. She was reason why my bleeding wounds started to heal. She was first person that made me accept myself 100%. I will never be the same as when i started loosing my own self, but at least i accepted who I really am now. To everyone that struggle being yourself, remember to never lost who you really are under the society pressure, you are who you are and that's beautiful. Don't fear to tell someone that you are suffering inside, as hard as it is, it will make you feel at least a bit better. Even if life kick you even when you lie, it will get better, just never give up on yourself and fight for what you believe in and for yourself. Sorry if it's a bit chaotic what i wrote

The most amazing Part is the end. As a singer, let me tell you _real_ emotion and singing don't actually go together well. Real emotion constricts your throat, makes you seize up, all the things you can't do while singing. So as a singer you have to balance the whole time between actual emotion and the Control needed for such an amazing voice to come out. You can see him at the end pulling himself together before he starts singing again, because frankly, there is no singing when you're in that state. The fact that he managed to get back from it this fast is amazing.

Here's the lyrics if anyone wants it: I was told at six years old They'd avoid me if my heart was cold Found it hard to talk and speak my mind They never liked the things that I would like Cause you're told to play but you're not the same As the other kids playing the same games Try to jump on in but they push away So far away... I'm not the same, no I'm not the same, no Years went by I tried and tried My father asked me if today I smiled I said - "yes, I did" - but that's a lie Oh, I always tell those lies Then you run and hide, hide the break inside Till you realize that the light shines bright Through those, oh, who've broke inside I'm not the same, no I'm not the same, no I'm not the same, no I'm not the same, no Cause you never want to be the kind of person Who can't work it for those ones who can not word it Cause you've been the kind of person who felt this pain Oh, yeah, I felt this pain So you go and leave the pain and find another way To make yourself another game, maybe one for all to play Because it's not just me who's not the same, we're not the same We're not the same, no... We're not the same, no... We're not the same, no! We're not the same, no!

As a person with Autism, I can DEFINITELY relate to the lyrics of the song. We're always told that we can't do the things "neurotypicals" do, and at times that will hurt. Sheldon really spoke to a lot of us and I for one am SO GLAD he won. I haven't said this since 2016, but this could be the year we bring it home! GO ON SHELDON!! The whole nation's behind you! Or the other way around. I am autistic and only got it confirmed at nearly 20. I've always felt different, not understanding or being able to follow the other kids, and knew SOMETHING was up. But I a was smart and otherwise 'simply introverted', and I have had meltdowns that were just me being "dramatic and overemotional" because well, I am a conventionally good looking and ok functioning girl. A bit shy, stubborn, weird interests but otherwise I WAS the same as the other girls I was told. Except that I am absolutely fucking not the same as the other kids.

Well, it’s good that you’ve found your own meaning for the song. Sheldon is gay though, so when he sings, I imagine that’s what it’s about. The lyrics are very universal though and can apply to a lot of people.
@jasminerizzo27332 жыл бұрын
@@CeruleanSword it's not the OP's "own meaning" though, Sheldon Riley literally says the song is about being gay AND autistic. he was diagnosed at age six, that's why "age six" is mentioned at the very beginning. but I guess you can imagine whatever you like about it since the lyrics are indeed universal

i cant believe i never left a comment on this but i have been a huge fan of sheldon since the summer of 2020 after seeing his the voice Australia performances. i followed him during his journey in america's got talent. then, he started releasing the singles "left broken" and "again". i was sad that left broken couldn't become his eurovision entry but boy was i wrong. i love and relate so much more with "not the same". i was suspecting he would join Australia decides 2022 with a worse song and i was so wrong. i was so happy when he was announced. then when charley's song was released i got nervous since it was really good. the night sheldons song was released, i instantly fell in love. so much so that it is my most played song on spotify of the year. the day sheldon won was honestly the most happy i was since going to junior eurovision. i was so fucking happy. i fell out of love with the song for a bit, but I'm so in love with the message. if it somehow doesn't qualify if sweden and Poland steal all the jury points, i will actually cry for so long. more than when amnesia didt qualify. so excited to see sheldon make top 10. :)) now time to study for my last apush test ever (besides the ap exam). its 12:49 and i don't know anything. 4/26/22 luv u sheldon :) thank you for this masterpiece. easily my favorite song of all potential and chosen eurovision songs of the 2022 season. terra and death of us at a close second and third respectively

This song spoke to me the first time I heard it. It instantly brought tears to my eyes as childhood memories washed over me. I, was not the same, as well. I have ADHD and was only diagnosed at age 42, wondering a life time why people don't like me. My daughter has it too and struggles in social situations. She loves the song too. Finally someone speaks for neurodivergent people.
