Hello Shelly! As I'm in the midst of watching all (and I mean all) of your videos regarding children's picture books, I just wanted to say thank you! Your enthusiasm and passion for beautifully illustrated picture books has truly inspired me and has exacerbated my ever growing love for children's books. I am a soon to be primary/elementary teacher and I never knew how deeply I enjoyed (or that I was even "allowed" to personally enjoy) children's books until recently. There is something so beautiful about seeing adults passionate and excited about books, nonetheless, children's books at that. So thank you for sharing your deep passion for children's picture books and representing that there is no age limit for such things. I look forward to hearing your lovely thoughts in your future videos! Happy page flipping, Caytlyn

I hear you are a Hannah Louis Poston fan :) I am too. Going to start commenting to support your channel as a lover of reading children's books to my 4 small children I have collected quiet a lot over the years and discovered I love reading to them as much as they enjoy listening to me. I frequent the thrift stores that have hundreds of children's books so I started watching to memorize the ones I should look out for that I may have accidentally left behind. That and to give as gifts for birthdays and Christmas's if I choose to buy new/ used ones Amazon. ❤ thank you 😊

You have picked up some of her mannerisms which I love and also the over head video with keeping the sound on while the video is fast forwarding. So satisfying and I LOVE to watch it. Never ever change it haha 🤣

Those are just beautiful. I always admire the art and design that goes into children's books. This a totally biased recommendation, but a family member of mine has published two children's books that she both wrote and illustrated. The Peculiar Pig and The Cutest Brave Little Bunny by Joy Steuerwald. They are both about learning and accepting who you are. ❤

I'm intrigued by writers who illustrate their own books, "translating" their words into images!🧡

Absolutely beautiful! So many books going on my list of books to seek out! I love a limited colour palette - so powerful. That yellow reminds me of wild primroses which are everywhere here at the moment. The illustrated Aesop’s Fables is stunning. Lost and Found! 🩵🩵🩵 One of my favourite illustrators is Melissa Castrillon who has a beautiful illustration style and choose a limited palette which is so effective and just stunning!

Look for Anne Anderson, Edmond Dulac, Kay Neilson. I hope I got the spellings right. And of course Arthur Rackham. These are some of my absolute favorites.

Some of my favourite children's book illustrators are Jeannie Baker and Shaun Tan. Some more recent(ish) picture books where I've loved the illustrations include Gargoyle by Zana Fraillon and Ross Morgan and Timeless by Kelly Canby (who I'm using for my illustrator deep dive prompt) and anything by Jess McGeachin.

Hey, I think I may have said this in another comment under an older video. You may like Daniela Drescher's illustrations, particularly her fairy books, like "Little Fairy Makes a Wish." In German, many of her books rhyme, which sadly they don't seem to in English? I'm not sure though.

Library Bus, If You See A Bluebird, and A Sky-Blue Bench all by Bahram Rahman. These Olive trees by Aya Ghanameh and Homeland My Fathers dreams of Palestine by Hannah Moushabeck.

I’m share picture books on Instagram so I own a couple (of thousand) and I actually think the most beautifully illustrated are Brambly Hedge or the original Angelina Ballerina. I love Mouse’s Wood too, and it hadn’t occurred to me that my favourites are all about mice until I wrote this comment 😂

Hi! When you said "picture this" it made me think of a book called "Picture This" by Molly Bang. It's a book that describes graphic design ideas through imagery and how design affects story. I thought you might enjoy it because you mentioned drawing in a previous video. ❤

my all-time illustrated picture book is called 'Heckedy Peg' . Audrey & Don Wood's story and illustrations are rich and entrancing. My copy from childhood no longer has a spine- it fell completely to pieces I flipped through it so often. If you aren't familiar, I highly recommend checking it out.
