The one episode that made me want to punch both Penny and the writers (for being on drugs), was the stupid episode where she accuses him of taking her for granted, and in the end, the dumbass solution is a shitty relationship agreement that is never brought up again. Like, WTF? Sheldon’s stupid habits and traits are annoying as hell, and him being the solution pissed me off a lot. Also like I said, what kind of solution was that!? At this point she makes significantly less money than Leonard (she worked as a waitress), her acting career was going nowhere and she’s basically a mess both emotionally and financially; there’s no way she’s a 10/10. I’d argue that she’s a lot better towards the end of the series but she’s still not a 10/10, point being is that in this instance Leonard is definitely “the catch” in this relationship and Penny’s father recognized that too which is why he asked Leonard to not give up on her, he wants Penny to have a good life along with his future grandkids having a stable living and he knew that Leonard would be able to provide that to her unlike the idiots she used to date and sleep around with.

Ngl this was the episode that made me disgusted with Penny as a woman combined with the episode where Sheldon was going on a date with Amy (their 1st ever date I believe) and Penny came along and Sheldon estimated the amount of guys Penny was sleeping with on a regular basis in which Penny shamefully admitted that the number was much higher and then Amy shamelessly asks if she’s a slut. It wasn’t just the amount of men she’s slept with but also the type and quality of guys that are heavily implied that she was easy with: she was out of control in both her life and herself and between Leonard and Penny in the situation Leonard is definitely “the catch” in their relationship and not Penny, her dad was able to pick up on that easily hence why he asks Leonard not to give up on her.
