I likes this alot! I like how grounded in reality it is and how people can be really bad and how the character struggle feels real. The set ups are done well and the heist is pretty cool. Well done on this. I'm no author so I don't know how to provide any constructive criticism, but overall this was done well.

I’m lucky being able to listening to audiobooks at work. I prefer paper, but for an audiobook, it passed the day pleasantly. I appreciated the humor, the cussing I didn’t even notice really. Syntax and flow sounded pretty natural. My favorite part was the fist sized FU irony was enough to put a smile on my face. I laughed loud enough to get looks. Narration: Warm tones and pleasant timbre.

Thank you so much for your feedback!! I honestly appreciate all forms of constructive criticism so if you see any room for improvement please let me know. I think I started with the reset, but I got side-track with having to go to a job site. I’ll probably pop back to that one when I’m done with this one.
@brerfox7120 Жыл бұрын
The only thing I noticed with The Reset is some redundant sentences. But, it was pretty good also. Sometimes, it was distracting when sentence 1. We drove east on a road. Sentence 2. While we went east on the road. (Just an example). Towards the middle of the book.

Ive got 1 hour left so far this book is great. I enjoy that the characters are a bit younger instead of the usual father/mother trying to protect their kids. Ive been searching and searching for a Post apocalyptic/Survival story about a late 20s early 30 year old who goes out into the shit trying to survive. This is the closest ive found. Great book. Is there a part 2?
@MaceValor Жыл бұрын
Yes part 2 of shelter is getting wrapped up for publishing, in the mean time there is another book in the series I feel just might scratch that itch you are describing, just a tad at least. KZbin is strange with how it automatically selects slots for ad breaks, I just set all my videos to let KZbin decide where to place ads, less work on my end. It took three years of my life to write this book, edit, format, publish, and after years of only selling a handful of books I just wanted to share my work with as many people as possible - KZbin was the answer for that. So I spent months doing my very best with substandard equipment to record, edit, and release my books in audiobook form for free to the masses. Yeah I agree that ads suck, but thank you for the penny I earned for you sitting through it. Honestly I don’t care if you use ad blocking while watching my videos - if it helps with you having an uninterrupted listening experience then by all means go for it. If you have actual criticism for my content I’d love to hear it so I can continue to learn and grow as a writer. Sorry you had to sit through some ads as you listen to a audiobook for free.

Interesting comment about the use of African-American by police. The author seems to be unaware that black people in America call themselves African-American even though 99% aren’t immigrants from Africa nor do they speak an African language OI follow an African religion.
@MaceValor Жыл бұрын
Oh I am well aware of that. The book is written in first person pov so when we hear Scott say things like that we are perceiving things from his perspective with the way he talks/thinks. Just because the characters are the world and talk in a particular way doesn’t mean that I operate the same way, it’s just one of the ways I tried to make the characters their own, different and independent from who I am.

During a EMP you wouldn't have electricity or need for crypto currency.and couldn't get gas because no electricity . No TV no phone no gas heat no generator when gas ran out even in the country you would have to do everything by hand like raising a garden and digging holes to bury your garbage and people in towns would have to grow gardens in town and washing their clothes by hand and putting up clothes lines to dry them and only older cars pre 1967 would work and building things by hand with hand saw and a hammer and nails and with millions of people in the United States city's would run out of food fast if people didn't start growing food and collecting water to wash and washing clothes no garbage pick up no sewer would work only paper plates and towels and cups and utensils then that would have to be burnt in metal barrels . It's not like everyone in the United States have tons of medicine and food and water and batteries and gas , propane grills and fire wood take all this in consideration .

Hey no hard feelings. Narration isn’t exactly my strong suit, writing is. Unfortunately professional narration is ungodly expensive especially with little to no return in sight, so I just opted to do it myself. I just wanna deliver my stories to… well, anyone really. Sales have been slow on Amazon even with the free promotions I run. So I felt that recording my book myself was the best cost effective way to bring my writing to any audience willing to listen. The bonus is that here on KZbin I can deliver my books without readers having to pay anything so even in the event that someone doesn’t like the narration they only wasted their time and not their money. Would you like me to give you some suggestions of other audiobooks in this genre?

It's BLM reference and the big deaf guy. But to the OP, i recommend carrying on- it doesnt dwell on nonsense. Its a cool story thus far. That first comment is the only reference. It has really not focused on anything but the struggle to get by. The characters have some theories but who doesnt. It kinda focuses on economic crash. Pretty fair really. It sh¡ts on corruption. I think you might actually enjoy it. I wouldnt stick it out if it was "woke", either. And i dont think there's a girl-boss either. Yeah pretty crazy concept how a character written in first person might use a particular set of language, whereas from another character’s perspective their own POV/internal monologue might have little to no swearing, it’s almost as if by showing how characters communicate/think we are give more insight to them as a whole, but eh what the fuck do I know since I used a few no-no words
