Ballet and this is nothing alike. Most of this comes from classical Asian dance. The hands the pose

I think what she meant is the power, the discipline, control and precision of movement. You are correct that the two forms are very different and have different purpose, history (this is MUCH OLDER). Ballet does not, for example, have a spirit(for lack of a better word) purpose, nor the same cultural heritage

@@sharonkaczorowski8690 being honest here at first I was just watching because I think they are beautiful. sounds shallow I know but I get how long they must train for and it is more than sexual for me. it is something primeval and you are correct about it having spirit over ballet. I know ballet dancers train the same or more but I find it hollow. Hope this makes sense. I know what I mean lol

@@dc5857 Sorry but they are alike. In the sense that they both require intense balance and control that only comes after years of study and practice. There is the same similarity between dance and martial arts. If you think about it all these things require "balance and control". I found my training in Karate was a great help in improving my Ballroom dancing. The movements and history are different, but the techniques and skills are often the same.

I've watched a lot of these performances over the years, andit never ceases to amaze me the complexity of the choreography and the sheer range of moves. Each few bars of the music has many moves fading flawlessly into one another, and all those isolations are exhausting if the breathing isn't just right. Yana is captivating!

Her hand and arm work is fantastic, looks like she trained hard in a classical Indian dance form as well as being inspired by Zoe Jakes and/or Nagasita. If these are some of her inspirations I hope they see this, they would be so impressed 😍

Insanely good and fun to watch! Her impish smiles while looking into the camera reach right out to us to say, "yes, I know you are enjoying this : ) " And then her groove and pop-lock moves (which I guess originates from this style of dance (mind blown!)) are just incredibly fun to watch and feel with the beat of the music (great selection by the way).
