This track is incredible. I remember that after being a long time Shenmue fan, when I was able to travel at last to Guilin, I spent my travel rafting down the LiJiang in a little ship with this song on my headphones. That made my life worthy.

The Guilin section is such a refreshing departure from the craziness and action of Kowloon

I can't even explain what this section of the game and this game in general did for me when I first saw it in 2001, I've never seen anything like it at the time. My mind was blown and all I could do was just take everything in as I continued along. Both this and Sonic Adventure 2 were like Sega's swan songs to me before bowing out of the console race. I always chose Sega since the Master System so when they quit that year it left me with a "where do I go from here" feeling as far as consoles. Legit almost made me lose my passion for gaming at the time, that's how hard I took it.
