Good memories... Is it safe to say that Shenmue started the QTE trend? Because 'In my opinion', No one does better QTEs than shenmue. I don't know, when other games do it, it doesn't 'pack a punch', metaphorically speaking. Then it got better in Shenmue 2 (well a bit but I found it more engaging). Thanks for the video, I was entertained. Will we be expecting the Shenmue 2 QTE Collection as well?

Catching the ball from the kids playing...did that ever do anything at all for the game? I both failed and succeeded but never noticed a difference iirc. Also 1:37 when do you run into those girls? Requirements? I've never seen that QTE nor the one at 2:46.

The girls are behind warehouse 17 that has the big mad angels painting. You have to talk to Mai's mother at the hot lunch stand in the harbor and she tells you that mai is hanging out with some bad kids and she is worried about her. Then you go to warehouse 17 and mai is that young girl cowering behind the 2 girls in blue when you fight them you can also come across those girls by the barbor shop you go to about the three blades. They hang out at the corner where you would walk up to get back to sakuragoaka.

best game ever made... shame what happend later with whole sega and shenmue :/ yeah I know they are doing 3rd part but as kickstarter... I dont think it will have much sucess...but back in the days it could been one of best franchises ...on par with Metal Gear... they wasted potential

That first one always gave me trouble, I found a way to slip past and go through days normally, it was then Christmas Day and Dobuita was all decorated lol Why was he attacking girls again?? The graphics tho, those girls looked a little off, then again it could of been maybe fitting to a bigger screen??

Although Shenmue was one of the first games to utilize QTE's, The God of War series refined them to what they are today. We all know that the timing for the QTE events in Shenmue can be a bit wonky at times (Plus the flickering command input on screen can be a pain in the ass). I also "loved" when certain QTE events required the player to choose left or right in less than 2.5 seconds. Nonetheless, still a classic game in its own right.
