Aiaiaai, Shepherds Pie! That is a good one, Ivan! I see that you're trying to get us up and do some fancy cooking. But my shepherd pie is a really humble one, King Ivan! No cheese and no egg yolk. Just a layer of mashed potatoes and than the minced meat and than topped of with mashed potatoes. I use milk to get the mashed potatoes a bit lighter in texture but that’s all. I guess it is just a top recipe so it doesn’t matter how rich or how ‘poor’ you make it. Anyone’s Shepherd Pie will come out good and tasty. Thank you for putting up this recipe, Ivan! It is really a great one. I would put lamb’s lettuce next to it because it is the season. Every winter when I pass the bio shop I have to go in, grab two handsful of fresh lamb’s lettuce, and quickly put them in a bowl of cold water when I am home. Hardly need to clean it, but washing it several times is necessary because of the fine sand on it. Vinaigrette and njam njam with anything; also with Shepherds Pie!!!! Hey Sireen! 😁 I also love to make it simple; sometimes the trick is in the simplicity. Just having good ingredients and letting them shine is all you need. And some love for cooking of course. 😋 And shepherd’s pie is the perfect dish to make simple. As you say, it will turn out amazing either way. We actually don’t have lamb’s lettuce here, at least I’ve never seen it, but a nice refreshing salad on the side is absolutely perfect with this. 😁 Soon making a super delicious and very simple cabbage dish, I hope you'll like that one.
