Find a small trailer and I used pig panels for side and pulled it with 4 wheeler. It was 4x8 trailer it worked great for moving pigs of all sizes. Sometimes I’d feed them in it leading up to moving them. The would load themselves often.

Good idea. Jordan Green had a similar set up. Called the “Weaner Wagon”.

Great laugh watching y'all wrangle them pigs -- thank you! Keep the videos coming -- I've learned good deal from y'all too, but that was straight-up good entertainment! Merry Xmas!

I have two feeders that I can't trust behind an electric fence. It's annoying. They avoid the wire, but have learned to root up the post ! Which , of course, shorts out the wire. Sometimes up to 3 times a day. So they are permanently in a 16x16 ft lot which is just sad because I have 5 acres of heavy woods they could be enjoying life in.
@SheratonParkFarms4 жыл бұрын
Aw man. Hate to hear that. Sounds very frustrating. They would leave the bigger space of you could trust them. Thanks so much for watching

I use to take and corner them then took an old towel and tossed over them to pick them up as long as they couldn't see anything they were calm.

Good idea. I’ve used a bucket for castration to keep them a little quieter.

If chasing them doesn’t work just let them come to you like puppies 😂 this is totally us 😂

They can be fun to catch at that size. You don’t know just what your getting into until you grab their leg

Exactly. They are really strong and heavier than they look. Thanks for watching

What do you connect your ground wire too? It looks like it was connected to one of the posts. I enjoy the show.
@SheratonParkFarms3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I just clip it to one of the metal posts. If I’m running a solar energizer I clip it to the tpost the charger is hanging from.

Mark - at Bakers Green Acres - uses IBC totes to transport piglets. He cut a door on the side and drops a trap-door over it to keep them in - Then uses the bucket to lift with his tractor to pick the tote up. You could also put the tote on a piece of plywood and drag it behind the Kawasaki. -KJ kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6jCqHhsppeBhZo

No. Never have. We could for our own use but couldn’t sell it. Our processor has to make and label anything we sell to the public. Thanks for watching

another great video! Thank you for the content!! Small question - How do you like the Kawasaki side by side? Would you buy it again? What model is it? Thanks again!
@SheratonParkFarms4 жыл бұрын
Love it. Most used tool in our farm. Would definitely buy again and have though about purchasing a second one. It’s the base 4x4 model. No frills but that’s all I need. Thanks for watching

What kind of waterer r u guys going to use? R u getting your piggies from Jordan?
@SheratonParkFarms4 жыл бұрын
On these guys we are just using a pickle barrel with a drinker nipple. Am not. Getting them from A guy near Bristol VA that was in the farrow to finish school with me up at Jordan’s earlier this year.

I'd slow down a little on the boars. One boar can handle quite a few ladies.

Will that charger hold adult pigs?
@SheratonParkFarms4 жыл бұрын
If they are trained on electric, yes. Will depend on how much fence you are trying to energize. We’ve left the energy off of fencing for a full day without issues. Appreciate y’all watching

@@SheratonParkFarms thanks. My fear is I’m going to buy an inferior charger and have to go back and buy another one. Starting with a few pigs in the spring. Your videos have been great.
@SheratonParkFarms4 жыл бұрын
Go ahead and get a really good energizer. You’ll need it for more applications in the future I’m sure. Good investment in your farm.
