hey SheRea, i've made my aloe vera oil by using the double boiler method and it works way better than cooking it directly on heat. i dice the aloe in bits, add the oil to a glass bowl then dump the aloe in the oil and add 2 tablespoon of moringa powder. By using the double boiler method, you get to preserve the nutrient and the oil comes out super thick. Its so moisturizing on my hair.

I love oiling my scalp! Hair grease would make my scalp itch & flake all the time growing up & then I’d just keep adding more smh. But since going natural I found that a good oiling on wash day keeps my scalp calm & moisturized just about until the next wash day! I especially love using Ayurvedic or DIY oils because they’re feeding my scalp hair happy nutrients! Lol thanks so much for another oil recipe to add to my repertoire 🤗

This is an excellent video. Coconut oil is one of the best oils to use when doing herbal infusions. I specifically use the fractionated kind (learned this from a veteran youtuber...Gabriel) your diys remind me of hers. For anyone that wants a coconut oil alternative, try babassu or palm kernel. Aloe powder is awesome stuff.

Thanks for sharing this recipe because I was very hesitant about using fresh aloe to make aloe oil due to the water content. I just made this following your technique and I must say that it was the quickest and easiest recipe for aloe vera oil that I've seen. I made the aloe powder myself, and I used mostly coconut oil but I added a little olive oil, Jamaican black castor oil, and black seed oil. I am so excited to try it!

Thanks so much for explaining why using the powder over the fresh plant is more recommended. How long do you infuse the oil? And can you infuse in a water bath (boil water and place the jar in it) with the powder without compromising the nutrients?

I said how long I infused it. And yes a waterbath works. It’s just an extra step I’d rather not do but it speeds it up.

Also how many times can you reuse the aloe powder and what do you think about hibiscus oil? I mostly see ppl apply in masks or as a tea rinse but not really as an oil? Last thing can I use grape seed oil instead of coconut? Man I feel like I owe you a check for a consultation with all of my questions lol

Hi Rudy, are you living in an area of Japan with hard water? You might need a water filter or incoperate AVC and Bentonite clay washes if that's the case. Hard water isn't good for our hair. All the best.

Hi SheRea Delsol I tried making this and the next day my oil looks like it has spores. It could be that the coconut oil has solidified in spots, but is this normal? Did your coconut oil solidify at all sitting in your cabinet?

@@SheReaDelSol Thank you for your response. I’m in California, so the weather isn’t that hot or cold. I think doing this in the summer won’t be a problem with leaving it outside. Right now our nights are too cold. I think it is the coconut oil and not fungus. I’m curious if anyone else that has made this had this problem?

@@brandyb2336 Lots of people lol. Coconut oil hardens at a certain tempature. Try doing a hot infusion or mixing with another oil.

3 Questions. Will heating the oil before mixing the powder alleviate the minimum 1 week infuse time? How many times would you suggest reusing the settled powder? Do you have any ratio options for adding the aloe powder straight to my moisture cream that I make for my hair?
