On a vacation in Grenada last year, had this and aloe available in the yard. When I was growing up this is what Rastafarian's used to clean their locks (at least that's how I have knowledge of it). Anyway, for my week+ stay, I used this mixed with aloe to wash the salt water out of my hair nearly every day. Nothing else. No conditioner. My hair was just A BLINGING. Even the chick from the souvenir shop had to comment (while I was AMAZED at her makeup)

Thanks for the video. It was refreshing to listen to your presentation of the Cactus Plant (we call it Rachette). I’m from the old school & we did use it as a necessity. I’m not sure how some people got it mixed up with the Aloe Plant because as a Country person who are familiar with both Plants, the Aloes plant is a very bitter so when it gets on your hand & in your mouth it’s a bitter taste you cannot forget. By the way, we did use the aloes plant for many medicinal purposes which was never a pleasant taste because of the bitterness, but it was HIGHLY EFFECTIVE. Thanks you for your video... Well Done...as we are all returning back to the basic.

In Texas, the Nopal/nopales/nopalitos is the leaf of the cactus. And the Prickly Pear is fruit/fig (purple and green) that grows from the mature cactus. Nopales is available year round but prickly pears are only available in the summer. Due to COVID and he who shall not be named(😒), they can’t be imported from Mexico this year 😞 it’s been a sad summer because the pears are tasty...like watermelon and cucumber had a baby. Some people also grind the seeds into a flour, since they’re safe to swallow but very difficult to bite.

Oh gosh, now I gotta go BACK to my dad's house and pick these 😂😂 I had him cut some of the aloe vera so I could do your ayurvedic diy gloss treatment. He asked me if I wanted some of the cactus plant, (I forgot what he called it, whatever they call it in Jamaica) he said it's good to wash your hair with, I told him no because I I've never seen you use it any of your diy's. Good thing he's only 10 minutes away, I'll be trying this next 😎

@@SheReaDelSol oh so you never let it dry i was asking because if it's color disappeared and it left the curl definition and length i would wear it as a styling product. just wondering.

Your laugh was too much but I love it. I use the cactus plant by blending it with some water, strain and spray it on my hair like a moisturizer, I dont wash it out. Today i went to my local mexican store and bought a pack of 5 nopales (their name for it) for $4.55. I think i found a new holy grail for my hair. (Still use my aloe juice)

@@SheReaDelSol It had my hair soft, not sticky or anything but add a little oil to hold it in. I just finished making my cactus juice for my hair and I had some left I placed in a ziploc bag in the freezer for my next go 'round.

Hey SheRea♥️You’re going to have me blending up stuff like a mad scientist! I hope I can find this in the Spanish store that carries Aloe Vera leaves. Do you prefer one over the other( aloe vs cactus)?

Great video. Since we have natural hair we must use natural products from the earth. Makes sense right? I am African American and grew up hot combing my hair, on top of that the permanent relaxers with lye, grease, shampoos for white folks hair, all other kinds of chemicals. My hair is a hot mess. Terribly damaged. Perhaps this will start me on a hair journey. Perhaps there is still hope. Mother earth is spitting out her products for us to use. Let's see what happens. I will photo before and after, and get back to you. Thanks a million.
