I personally love Peach and Lily! Their glass skin serum was recommended to me and I’ve been obsessed since. Little pricey put it lasts at least 3 months bc you use so little. Made my skin less red, gives that “plump” look, and helps min look of pores.

Japanese here, I always feel like you can't always expect good results from using popular Japanese cosmetics when you aren't a Japanese living in Japan because most of the viral Japanese product are initially for/ made by/ tested only by Japanese people. And by that, I don't mean that they only work for Japanese skins, (I'm sure the ingredients are good for any skin) but the environment you'd be using those products would be so different from Japan. For example, people don't know that Japan has soft water which is so much better for your skin than if you were living in an area with hard water. The foods we eat are very different. Less meat and dairy and way more veggies and fermented foods than the west. Less than 3% of Japanese women use birth control pills which would affect your hormone. (ex. It's over 33% in france. and I know birth control pills usually help women to have better skin but I'm just giving one perspectives of the difference between Japan and the west) And our makeup is different. Lately I see a lot of westerners comparing western micellar water to Japanese oil cleanser and say "Japanese oil cleansers are terrible for my skin" when they aren't even using stubborn af Japanese waterproof mascara/eyeliner which those Japanese oil cleanser (we literally call them makeup remover for that reason) is made for and people in the west double cleansing with hard water after using oil makeup remover when all they wanted to remove was non-waterproof mascara/eyeliner and spf (which miceller water was more than enough) is of course bad/too much for their skin lol So again, Japanese cosmetics might work super well for you too but just because it's viral in Japan, doesn't mean it works as well for non Japanese people.

I am 31 now, just 2years back my skin was so good instead of having extremely oily sensitive skin. I was not that much into skin care back then only basics. I turned 30 my skin drastically changed😢Now I have to do lot of skin care to maintain. I got horrible adult acne the moment I hit 30th birthday. Plus sun spots started getting visible. Thank god I have fewer spots bcz I have been using sunscreen since my school days but that time it was not that much awareness so I was not consistent everyday like while I was indoors, I never used it or reapplications or for 10-15 mins outside the sun. I am also noticing it takes lot of time to get rid of any pigmentation which I never seen in my 20’s. So this video perfectly aligns ❤

@@popicelolly whilst i appreciate that you dont know me or my situation let me enlighten you. I have four different chronic and degenerative health conditions. For me skin care has and remains an escape and something to distract me when my pain levels have surpassed what my pain meds can manage. So for me, knowledge, information, advice and product recommendations is something that helps me with a type of self care that helps distract me from excruciating pain. So whilst im sure(and hope) your comment was well intended sometimes its best to keep your personal negative opinions on someone else actions and choices to yourself unless you know that person and their situation fully - and even then if it is just to criticise, keep it to yourself. I am extremely greatful and appreciative of the information and content that Dr Idriss puts out there and will continue to support this channel whether through views or the occasional thank you.

I’ve evolved over the years using what was necessary and it worked out pretty well. When I turned 30 I had a period of about 6 months where my skin was just a wreck and since have worked it out. Now at 33 I’ve been wanting to have a better understanding of the products to tailor my routine to the things I need to reverse.

What I would like to see in a video is how a woman can address issues that come at 50 + as pre menopause -menopause ,the fact that pimples come everywhere from hormones, from sweating like every 5 min ,what affordable products can be used especially if one has oily skin and live in a humid environment. Hello! I’m about to turn 37 with no “real” skin concerns (pores and brightening, if I had to pick two) - but I’m trying to be proactive. My nighttime routine is: 1.) deep pore cleanser (whatever face wash my husband has) 2.) Paula’s Choice Salicylic or Paula’s Choice Lactic Exfoliant (I switch between the two) 3.) Minimalists’s Niacinamide 5% Face Serum 4.) Darphin’s Ideal Resource Perfecting Smoothing serum 5.) Darphin’s StimulSkin Plus Absolute Renewal Eye Cream 6.) Paula’s Choice 1% Retinol w/Peptides and Vitamin C (every other day) 7.) Darphin’s HydraSkin Light Gel Cream Moisturizer. My question is - with a few hundred dollars to spend on skincare - is this a good generic, preventative regime or should I reallocate my resources? (To anyone wondering, I spend more on philanthropy each year than skincare. I promise, I’m not a jerk)

Same, I avoid all products that contains it no matter how low the percentage. I found even cleansers that have it sting my face and make me red and reactive to anything else I apply after.

100% agree; my skin over time is unable to tolerate it & it’s crazy that nearly every “soothing” serum or cream seems to have niacinamide now, even in sunscreens, so I always check the ingredients before I buy 😢

Dr Idriss, the sulfur wash has cleared up my skin so much!! Do I keep using it? Should I rotate between it and something else more gentle since acne/CC/SF are under control?

Wonderful video! Is it possible to aid in skincare internally and externally? for example eating all of your vitamins, eating enough fats etc? I would LOVE to see a video about that. I notice a huge difference in my skin when I eat a lot of vegetables. So it's got me curious if it's a real thing. ❤

Hi Dr. Idriss! With the state of the world right now and the holidays around the corner, do you think you could do a sale on your website perhaps - maybe like $XX off if you spend over $200? I really want to gift the entire Major Fade line to my mother for Xmas, but it’s just a little over my budget right now. A holiday sale would mean the world to this nerd here ❤

Hi Dr. Idriss, thank you so much for this video! I turned 31 two months ago and thanks to you, after years of retinol, I recently started to incorporate tretinoin, which my skin is tollerating well 😍 So my question is: for my pm routine, if I apply glycolic acid after the cleanser, can I then use the tretinoin or is it better to avoid this combination? Thanks for your help

I use a cream from a compounding pharmacy that has tranexamic, azelaic and kojic acids and niacinamide, which I use for the daytime and the same cream but with tretinoin 0,05% at night. I also use ascorbic acid twice a day as a serum and another serum with licorice root and alpha-arbutin. That and basic cleansers, moisturizers and sunscream (I try twice a day, I work in a lab so it's a bit complicated). Oh and I'm thinking of getting a glycolic, lactic and salicylic acid gel 2-3 times a week. I really threw the kitchen sink at it but I don't wanna look older :p Oh and it's all either compounded or korean.

Redness is quickly becoming my biggest issue. By recommending green makeup are you saying that we can’t actually improve it?? I need more help understanding the causes of redness (other than the genetic which I obviously have as a redhead)!!

for redness and rosacea try find the highest concentration of azeliac acid.. in Europe we have skinoren cream which is great, that try invermectin cream - fungal can also cause rosacea and redness. Of course there are great lasers or ipl.. i really depends on how is your redness type etc. - best to go to dermalogical clinic. Other than that, I love Derma E gel cream for psoriaric skin.. it really calms my redness down.. So, it can be manageable for sure.. i just takes time and finding what is good for your skin😊 hope it helps.. ow, and for cleanser I use la roche posay syndet AP gel.. it is the best

The green tint in the product is just for instant help, there’s still ingredients that help long term. Niacinamide, chamomile, resveratrol, licorice, Sulfur, azelaic acid, bromelain, sodium sulfactamide. I don’t even know what the last two are, this list is from a dermatologist. Centella asiatica also helps, it wasn’t really a thing in the west back when this dermatologist made this list.

Azelaic Acid is the best ingredient for redness (and rosacea). AA 15% and 20% are the most studied levels for rosacea with the most literature, but you may not be able to get that dosage OTC depending on where you're located. Many places need a prescription to get over 10% AA. Azelaic Acid can also be difficult to formulate nicely into a product as it can pill easily, but some brands like Cos De Baha have a serum with 10% that I've heard is pretty good. Geek & Gorgeous have an AA derivative serum that uses 20% Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate or (PAD) that's shown promising results within the literature. I've used and enjoy the G&G aPAD serum, however I have far better and more consistent results with 15% AA, and personally don't think anything compares to it!
