"I wonder if he got more than a shoulder wound in Afghanistan?" So back in the 1890s, soldiers were coming back with traumatic brain injury and PTSD. 🤕

And morphine addiction, like US Civil War veterans, such as my great-great grandfather, Eli Coddington of Iowa.

@billsadler3 I think sir that every soldier in the battlefield has a trauma like my grandpa and my father when he witnessed the ww2

@@billsadler3most often they were given amphetamines mixed with steroids to loose their fear , to be be angry and aggressive and to stay awake. The morphine addiction came after they were wounded, as laudanum was the only pain relief they had to give to seriously wounded soldiers. If that is used more than a few weeks you are addicted .. there were no weanin off programmed or help afterwards, so most of the men that came back were broken in every way.. drugs are still given today.. that’s why so many goes on to have horrible lives and domestics violence is common afterwards and even murders rates are fairly high amongst veterans and obviously continued drug use and suicide. 😢

They called it shell schlock and traumatic neurosis back then. Many were institutionalized in asylums untreated.

Hello, Isn't this just great.. The introduction of Watson to Holmes has been done several times. This, along with the BBC Sherlock, has to be among the best. A most enjoyable half hour, Cordialement,

Afghanistan? War? Nothing new under the sun. Thanks for uploading these. I have these in at least 3 different DVD sets; however, though my cell phone screen is much smaller, enjoy the ease of selection AND reading the comments. Overall great entertainment. Thanks bunches!

Very very wonderful presentation of all of the Sherlock Holmes and Dr John Watson 🎥 movies 🍿, and NO bad language whatsoever, but a calmed approach to the situation 😅

When i first saw the title, i wasn't sure if i would like it. I think of Basil Rathbone. I enjoyed it very much. The inspector was little John with Richard green in Robin hood.

H Marion Crawford had to be the loudest Watson. Ronald Howard was the spitting image of Dad Leslie.

I am not sure of the truth of it but I was told that Howard Marion Crawford when not being an actor was a Judge.

May you be blessed and revered, Lord, God of our ancestors, may your name be held glorious for ever. For you are upright in all that you have done for us, all your deeds are true, all your ways right, all your judgements true. True is the sentence you have given in all that you have brought down on us , for you have treated us rightly and truly, as our sins deserve. Yes, we have sinned and committed a crime by deserting you, yes, we have greatly sinned; we have not listened to your commandments, we have not observed them, we have not done what you commanded us to do for our own good
