Very cool and smart idea. I can see the value behind not doing a full squat here. I always feel like I look like a frog getting ready to jump while riding seated and I prolly do haha. I can't wait to see how many miles you can squeeze out of this beauty. Great video and thank you for sharing.

Hi Marty. Thanks for the video. What's the height from the ground to the top of the seat?

Love it👍 I'm surprised someone has not come out with a folding support that utilizes the handles locking in when in the seated position. Cheers

Love it, thanks for sharing. I know you don’t want to sell them, but since you have the workshop, maybe consider just selling the wooden support piece pre drilled for the mounts and perhaps the seat base. Let the end user cut/glue/wrap/paint/assemble the rest.

Nice set up - If I got the Sherman L (the Lynx Max - heh heh) I would sculpt and shape a block of Minicell Foam, like what I do for kayak seats. I could custom fit it to the trolly handle. It would be comfortable, weatherproof, and lightweight - but not as comfortable as your seat. Also, an idea for hard seat tolerance on long rides - do what us analog unicyclists do, wear a pair of cycling shorts under your pants. The padded seat will make a hard seat more comfortable.

On my Sherman S I attached a US mailbox with a wooden insert in the underside folded area so it is attached across the handles like yours, with a little 3/4” thick foam padding strips along the top - it works great, was very cost-effective, and affords great storage to boot for items (Velcro closing at the opening end, which I have up front, and gives an area for an additional front light. I can’t squat like many do, I prefer the higher seat position as afforded by the mailbox, which is plenty strong enough for a well built, if thrifty Scot (103kg, appx 225lbs)! 🏴👍🏻🥃 😊

Thanks, Marty! Looking forward to the next video. I'm with you on the "look". If it works for you, who cares about anything else. Do you think you'd attempt a design in the future that attaches to the trolley handle, and maybe "clips" into place on the rear bracket? I know that's one of the cons at present. Something to consider. Thanks!

Thanks. For the seat height that I need I need to take advantage of the handles like I've shown in the video. Smaller seats can do as you suggest. See the seat that you can buy for the Lynx.

That looks like it would be great. I bought a seat for the S16 Pro but sit down riding might be wishful thinking on it.

I made my seat similarly inspired by a guy making seats for his custom motorcycle not as intricate tho 😂. I used higher density foam for my leather seat which i find better for longer seated sessions

I have been using pieces cut from dense rubber foam yoga mats for the sidepads of my V10F and my V11, that stuff is amazing. Maybe it would work better than that foam you are using.
@ElectricUnicycles3 ай бұрын
Thanks. For me, the yoga mat foam is much too hard compared to the foam I'm using in this seat

I took your advice (from a video) about a bicycle seat on the V12, but minus the Spring. The spring didn't feel stable. The V12 stock seat is very uncomfortable and trash. I ride about 10 minutes and I can't take it anymore...But I can ride on the bicycle seat forever

Would the seat stop you from being able to brake as hard and quickly when you're going fast bc you can't squat down as low and far back? I remember chooch tech saying how a seat on the EUC would probably inhibit him from braking as hard during more aggressive riding (but the seat looks extra comfortable if you're riding more casually)
@ElectricUnicycles3 ай бұрын
It's all about technique. It's easier standing but you can break very hard while sitting too (sliding your butt back) with less chance of wobbles developing.

great DIY .. just an observance it views as a weighty accessory but looks can be deceiving. Perhaps a material change to an aluminum frame, but in comparison to maple wood might be similar on a scale with the aluminum more streamlined.

You are correct that this could be made lighter. Unfortunately I don't have any metal fabrication facilities so this is the best that I can do.

We (people who know and ride with Brian) have talked about this, even just this morning. You have to understand how super aggressively Brian carves while riding to know that the flex he experiences is not something that 95% of riders will experience. It's a non-issue for me and everyone who has ridding the L so far.
