tip from one artist to another: try using plastic bottles with little nozzle caps- they come in all different sizes and when youre done you just remove the caps turn them upside down and let the resin drip out, and peel it out after it has cured then you can reuse them and you wont be using and throwing away so many plastic bags. beautiful effect by the way!

Hey, sherry I am new to this field of resin art. Please explain few things if possible- 1 where we use pigments? 2 where we use alcohol ink? 3 where we use mica powder?
@SherryMoulton
@SherryMoulton 4 жыл бұрын
I'm kinda new as well learning as I'm going lol. You can use any them anytime and I even mix them together. I find the mica power usually gives a non transperant colour. The alcohol is used when you want a little bit of colour. I also use acrylic paint when I want a solid colour. I think pigments are matt and the mica powders a shimmery. I hope this helps.🥰 Thanks for watching 🥰🇨🇦

In another video you mentioned that the reason you got such a beautiful flower effect this time is probably because you heated the resin, how much did you heat it and for how long?
@SherryMoulton
@SherryMoulton 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks sooooo much and thanks for watching. Yes actually it has to do with leaving your resin set for a bit. I now leave my resin set for 15 min before I start piping the white and it makes a huge difference. Once its piped you can use the heat gun to move it around but not for long. Hope this helps 🥰🥰🥰🇨🇦

Sherry, I was watching this video, and seen how much of the white resin you use for the flower. Why don’t you make a flower only with the left over, then when it is cured, do some clear or coloured resin over the top of it! Or if it would all run together, add something else to it, like the curly cues in the flower loops, you wouldn’t need to much! I don’t know but it would use up the left over white! Just some thoughts! Are you by any chance from Canada? When you mentioned Master Craft, gave me the idea! Love your videos, learn a lot from you! As for your freezer been there done that!

Now with the pink set I did not warm the resin but I think I over heated the white it was a lit toooooo spread hahaha ... such a trial and error 😜 can be expensive....... hope this helped a little. 🥰🇨🇦

Hi, thank you for the video. Im trying to do the same design as you did here. However having issues with the white resin. A little while after the design is completed, the white resin sinks and all the design blends together. Any tips on how to avoid this from happening?.

Can I ask why you pop them out and then put them on top of the background resin instead of just letting them cure and putting the background glitter on top? Just curious. Your coasters are gorgeous!

Sherry you let ur Resin sit a bit B4 adding the pigments? the reason I ask so far I been using Epoxy resin from UV Resin and I really Like Epoxy Resin better, but I been using my 24mm and some 20mm Ball Orb Mold i been trying Alcohol Inks the Lets Resin Inks nag they hardly give and effects for me, but Pinata yes are good, but the Ink when I drop in in my resin gives this running effects mainly on the sides not even being able to see the center on the orb, I saw many videos and they get some gorgeous effects. Now I do rush and drop my inks right after I add my Resin in, and my thoughts tell me maybe I should wait 15-20 minutes when I add my resin in my orb's or juz let it sit for that long so the inks won't fall and run down the sides to fast, thas my Theory at least maybe wrong, well hopefully you can help my love my runny inks LoL and Ur pieces came out sooooo Beautifully Muah Lovely😘 hope you can give me Advice TY 4 got to add sherry whats the work time of the resin Ur using?

Thanks so much and thanks for. Yes from my experience with alcohol in when you drop it in right away it will spread if you do wait a bit they will not spread as much. Hope this answered your question. Have fun creating 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🇨🇦

@@SherryMoulton : thank you Sherry, it sure did answer my question Deary😊 don't get offended me saying dear, I'm an older fella all out of respect, i'' still astonished of Ur work you did really stands out you know when you add a picture to ur video just an eye-catcher or it will make you look twice. forgot to ask after I mix it and in case there are bubbles i leave it sitting for 5-10 minutes, How much longer should I let it sit after the 5-10 minutes? you know I thought Exopy Resin have longer work time or pot life, but mostly some Resins have 20-40 minute work time B4 it starts getting gel like I thought one had hours to work, really new to Epoxy Resin used UV Resin for a bit, but Epxoy Resing is much better despite the long cure wait its worth it.

How many layers of resin are put in the coasters? Can you tell me the process of putting in the things? Is it resin, glitter, pigment, and then resin? Or is it resin, pigment, resin, glitter, resin, pigment, then resin again? I just wanted to know. Btw I love your videos.

So for the first part I put clear resin in the mold then I add a small bit of glitter in the center then I put the white on. Leave it set for 24hr then I remove them from the mold add your glitter resin mix the mold then put the first layer on top. Hope this helps thanks so much and thanks for watching. 🥰🥰🥰🇨🇦

Wait,wait,wait until your sire the wet resin is cool before you drop the cured pieces on top. I saw how the steam was sealed on other coasters you did. These are pretty but save yourself the wonder in why you have steam and the wster it creates.❤

My day with resin is a day with a lot of brain freeze! Love the video just found your channel. Very nice,I watched you put the white pigment in your resin and of course yours worked! I myself did the same thing twice now and both two ounce have not set up. I know it was mix correct because I use the remaining resin which was about 10 ounces on another form and it did set up fine. The two ounce came out like a piece of rubber. Same brand of pigment went into both projects. Green pigment fine white did not set. And the two ounce got one drop of white and green at least five drops. My resin was stone coat casting epoxy. Would you have any suggestion ? Is it just the white pigment. And the pigment is compatible with resin I bought it together. Thanks for your time!
