Absolutely no other lead singer in rock history has a more recognizable voice than Mr Walsh and that's figured out after the first song word!! He is a musical icon, a national treasure and above all, a human being who has experienced, like many, the highs and lows that our almighty dishes out. He is truly a musicians musician.

I went to a concert on my 16th Bday, it was Joe Walsh (shortly after the end of The James Gang) , Robin Trower, and the featured band was Quicksilver Messenger Service. Joe and Robin were so fricking awesome, everybody was emotionally exhausted by the time Quicksilver came to the stage. Incredible birthday, Joe played Rocky Mountain Way before it was released.

As I was watching this, I started thinking about the 1st time I heard " Walk Away". When I finally remembered it had to be around 1971, Wow-OMG. That means Sheryl was only 9 years old at that time. Its all so surreal to me now- that was FIFTY THREE years ago. Being the huge music lover I am, I am so thankful Joe is still around and making music. I love Sheryl too. 🙂

They just think of her as an annoying chick singer on the radio with bland songs because they know only a few of her big hits (most of which aren’t actually bland). That’s what people mean when they say she’s underrated; most people have no clue how talented she actually is.

I noticed that the melody lines vocally on "seems to me" were altered a bit on this rendition, like maybe higher? still sounds great because it is otherwise sung and played so well and with such gusto (I thought the drummer was really good and the slide guitar guy in addition to Joe and Sheryl). Anyway, anyone else notice that little departure from expectations based on the records reverberations in one's mind's ear as it were?

I saw Joe Walsh at the airport once. Chicago O'Hare. He sat alone in the boarding area facing one of the big windows looking out at the planes. He was dressed in black jeans and t-shirt. No one bothered him, and he was super chill and reading a magazine. They called first class boarding and he simply got up and boarded the plane. We walked past him as we went through to coach, and he smiled at people who acknowledged him with a nod. #truth
