Following the news that Chicago Sky head coach Teresa Weatherspoon had been fired from the team after just one season, rookie standout Angel Reese expressed her feelings on social media in a lengthy post.
Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Reese, 22, addressed Weatherspoon’s departure and noted how the former WNBA star and Hall of Famer believed in her from the start of her professional career.
“I’m heartbroken. I’m literally lost for words knowing what this woman meant to me in such a pivotal point in my life. She was the only person that believed in me. The one that trusted me. Many don’t even know what it’s like to be a black women in sports when nobody believes in you,” Reese wrote.

The problem with using Coach Spoon as a Placeholder is that you potentially sabotage her Future career somewhere else. So nobody should be okay with the move REGARDLESS of who replaces her. You don't destroy the Career of One Coach just to bring Shine and Glitter to someone else. Upper management from Day 1 had ZERO intention of Keeping Coach Spoon. Which is why they made the Deals that were done both Prior to the Season starting and midway through. So some folks need to stop with Coach lost the TEAM since it was never going to be her team to Have from the very START. That much is crystal CLEAR.

The challenge was with Coach Wetherspoon was she lost the locker room. They had to move Mabrey because she did not want to play in that environment. Then Coach Spoon confirmed that when during a flagrant she was seen on the sideline laughing about it. The team was very undisciplined with flagrant fouls....the Carter flagrant on Caitlin Clark and more. Then after a game there was an explosive incident where there was screaming and things being slammed during a post game presser. The team folded up on her down the stretch. They need to get an energetic coach that brings in a disciplined approach....annnnd....can coach their nice two bigs in unison. To have Reese and Cardoso and really struggle offensively in the post as a tandem is not acceptable. These two women can dominate with the right coach. Become a very tough problem for opponents! Finally once you lose the locker room....there's no going back and this fire as painful as it might have been and seem was the right call!
