Thank you! I will definitely be doing the smaller trays next time! Trying a 72 cell with things germinating and growing at different rates has not been ideal

I have a pot that I’d planted Supertunias in last spring that I cut back after they died off at the end of the summer and they’re growing like mad now! I bought them at Homegrown and they were gorgeous up until late August. They were all dried up after I cut them back and I figured they were goners. Nope…they’re beautiful now even after our recent temps in the upper 20’s overnight. I haven’t covered them or done anything to them at all.

That is awesome! I’ve had a hard time getting mine to survive the brutal summer … maybe they are dormant and not dead and maybe I should leave them in the ground longer like you!

Thank you for showing that the clear cell sections fit well in the 1020 trays! I use 20-20-20 diluted down in the house for seedlings. I just can't stand fungus gnats and the organic fertilizers seem to draw them. Sterilizing my mix with boiling water to moisten and the fertilizer usually cures fungus gnat problems for me. The triple 20 I use ( southern AG on amazon) has micronutrients. Once they go outside, I do organic and fish fertilizer.

I am looking for those containers with the moisture domes because I can't keep track of what is planted in those larger trays! So much easier to put under my 2 and 4 foot lights. I can only purchase one group of trays so my question is which do you recommend the 4 plants per tray or the smaller trays? Thank you so much for the wonderful videos you provide us! I learn so much from you!
@shesamadgardenerАй бұрын
My go to since this video are my Amazon trays … its 12 cells per tray. They are listed in my Amazon storefront in the video description.
@juneramirez8580Ай бұрын
@@shesamadgardenerthank you. As soon as I can find some money I will purchase some. It is just too hard using whatever containers I can find and fitting them under my lights. I have 5 2 ft grow lights and one 4ft shop light from Harbor Freight. The HF lights are the best as far as I am concerned. For the time being what I have, will have to do. I like the 12 packs because I can easily plant 12 of one plant. I have an acre to fill.

Great points on seed starting mix. I would add that it is also important for soil sterility. Especially if you're doing it indoors and you want to dramatically reduce fungus gnats, etc. My mix is 2 parts peat, 1 part perlite, and 1 part sand. Extremely inexpensive and long lasting when bought in bulk.

Awesome video! One question. Right at the last you watered with the fertilizer, then the water. I believe you said one ince in each tray? Do you typically come back to find you have to pour off some water after an hour or so?
@shesamadgardenerАй бұрын
I just divided the fertilizer among the containers and then came back with water to dilute it more in the trays. I don’t usually pour through water off … I’m sure that’s not the best practice but it’s what I do and they seem fine.

Are the lights in your Amazon storefront the ones you have as well? I’ve only used the LED grow lights and have been intimidated by the shop lights … plus the LED are pricier and smaller! Thanks!!!

The ones in my storefront are not the ones that I showed in this video … they are ones that I am installing under my table for larger plants. But there is a link to the Walmart ones that I showed.
