Mero star is the dark wine color - I've been growing it and saving over winter for several years (cold climate, so I have to save over winter or buy new ones). So pretty, big blooms, and not as tall.

Wow. I am going to have to hit up Home Depot and probably get myself into trouble with my husband! 😂. As for the rain lilies, they are similar to Amaryllis except they love water! I keep them in a lot of sun but in my pond and I have them in my indoor pond as well under grow lights and they bloom ok. They bloom much better in the full sun in the pond. I am in zone 7b near Baltimore, Md. I over winter them in the greenhouse in a nursery pot inside a cache pot with no drainage and keep a couple inches of water in it at all times. I really love them so much and mine are multiplying really well for me. Thanks so much for taking us along on your visit! ❤. Iv been binging your videos since you were on with Crane. Like you, I think he is just the sweetest soul.

I just wanna say I really appreciate this type of video where you are showing what is available and talking about if it’s a good price or not and a good size bulb. Also if it actually will grow in our area well because I know big box stores often carry things that don’t actually grow well here in Texas

I agree, you have to be careful about what you buy in the big box stores.

You mentioned starting the dahlias indoors and then putting them out. If I wanted to do that but put them into the ground, will they transplant well? I’m in central Texas zone 9a. Thanks!

Thanks for answering my previous onion question! You are always so helpful, like talking with a friend. One more onion question, can you buy onion starts (if that’s the correct term) at Lowe’s, HD or Walmart? Would they be over y the bulbs and such? Thanks, Amanda, have a great day!

Yes you can! I suggest buying from a local nursery as they tend to have the correct varieties for your area.

I have rain lilies. They look like chive leaves and flower infrequently for me. They have died back only to regrow again. They do flower with rain. But watering more doesn't cause them to flower more. I live in the low AZ desert, zone 9b.

Elephant ears, do they last in your high summer heat? I live in the low AZ desert and I wonder if they would grown in shade and protected from the wind?
