What a haul of different species of fish! That is very nice that people came to that Kayakers aid when he flipped. Gotta be safe out there! What a great video, really enjoyed all of it. Beautiful work on the skull.

My buddy AJ Wojo has been doing them and gave me tons of tips. He's super good at it. I'm pretty happy with how this first one turned out, but it was such a burdensome process that I'm not sure I'd do it again. I'm anxious to see the results of him doing the big marlin head for me 🤩

Nice double Shibbies! Love that red meat! 🎉 How did you friend flipped with an ama. That got me worried cause I have an ama and I thought I was safe!(?). Your advice to practice a flipped kayak is Golden. I practice it after your video show your flipping incident and I’m glad i did, cause I flipped my kayak (no ama that time) and came up okay but lost some gear. Yes it is a very serious thing to happen. Thanks for sharing all your experiences, always enjoy watching! Aloha

@@sonnyd6589 great comment. I’m happy to hear you were ok! The guy was just someone I met in a few occasions, not a friend friend so I don’t hear the whole story. Honestly the conditions were a little sloppy, and I think he might have been fighting a fish which made him off balance. But I know of others who have slipped with amas so be wary. Those conditions were super bad that day with huge sets of waves breaking through a channel. Take the ama off to flip back over.

@@Hernansoto0422 I usually throw ulua back for the shore guys. If I keep it’s because someone usually asked for it in particular. I keep kagami and yellow spot for sure tho, sashimi those buggahs!!! If big ulua is probably smoke. If small papio like esp omilu I own fry and top with a shoyu, tomato, and cilantro sauce. Winnahz 🤙🏽

Hi enjoying the videos so far. Im currently in the market for a kayak. I noticed that you used both the outback and pa14 in your videos. Can you give your opinion on how both do offshore, and which you prefer? Ill be targeting pelagics mostly.
@wheres_d_ahi
@wheres_d_ahi 13 күн бұрын
@@D33MUS_ky1 pro angler is more stable, so understandably turning is quite a bit harder/slower and it’s a lot heavier. Outback is more nimble and still pretty stable (much more so than a revo) and the main reason for my usage of the outback more is I can beach launch it much easier than the PA. The larger deck space on the PA is also very nice. Both handle well in the open ocean, but would still recommend side amas, especially when first starting.

@@wheres_d_ahi Really appreciate your input. Is the PA14 difficult to get going from a stop? Our local dealer has both in stock and PA14 is the 360 version, so that should improve the handling/turning dramatically. Again thanks for the info and keep the videos coming, really enjoy the content.

@ I don’t like all the parts on the 360 drive if using in salt water. Just seems like more ways to break and go bad. It gets moving fine from a stand still. Slower than the Outback, but you trade that in stability for sure. You can’t go wrong with either tbh. Just a matter of how you plan to use it and what you feel more comfortable with. And how you plan to move it too I suppose. One of my buddy’s puts his on a trailer and only harbor launches so there’s no weight issues for him! But if you were to drag that over sand for a beach launch, you better be fishing with a few other men that don’t mind helping you move it haha. 🤣

@@wheres_d_ahi Yeah there’s always a price to pay for complicated mechanics, I don’t mind honestly as I’m pretty good with maintenance. However, I like simplicity too. Just want to ensure that I can stay out as long as possible without getting too uncomfortable, and have the space to land fish and work without much interference. Much to think about though.
