On the strange dog topic....i cant stand when people just LET their dog come up to mine. Hes nice but I don't allow playtime or interactions on leash. And personally I don't like strangers and kids petting my dog when on walks.

My border collie also knows German commands. I dont want anyone else commanding my dog. The people who he needs to listen to know the commands in the language and thats whats important

This dog attacks on command, but what if you don't see the attack coming or your unconcious and not able to give the command will he still attack ?

From what I've seen the dog will attack the person when they make a violent action to the handler....an example of this I saw was the person was pretending to use the ATM and the decoy walked up behind her and went to "assault" her the dog instantly attacked (it had a muzzle on because the decoy had no protection on). The person used the command to stop the attack but never gave the word to attack... I think specific violent motions can queue an attack too but not 100% on that

Just finally getting to this one..ok my pups name is Arko.. did not know about come command etc when I named him..trully. got his name in a dream when I saw him sitting in my in my dining room 5 years ago. Still had my golden Duke. It was just weird haha. So thanks for this information So helpful.

AHHHH! Did you guys have a Dogo in the background in the beginning??!! I joined and got the elite off leash package to go through and train my dogo pups as they become of age, and refresh my existing pack of dogo's self training! Im super excited to begin. You definitely expand what I taught myself by learning from vets I worked for, other trainers a long time ago, training horses, and just knowing animals, and how to communicate with them I guess because the positive only crap was NOT working and was frustrating for me and the dogs. I have always believed in a degree of correction, and being respected by my dogs. My family as I was growing up, would not let the dogs come anywhere near the table while we ate, we used choke chains to give leash pops, that is what worked for the easier breeds I have known. Dogo Argentinos are a whole new ballgame. If you don't have respect, you have a dangerous situation waiting to happen. Im grateful for you putting so much detail into not only your member training videos, but your thorough youtube channel where you share so much information with us, for free!!! Awesome. I hope that when the time comes to learn the protection phase of training, i can do it correctly. There's no one a decent driving distance from me and I have made a goal of my kennel to offer protection trained dogos. It will likely take many years to come to fruition, but im down for the long haul!! #teamshield

what abotu situation where you are calling dog and he does not come? if you will use e-collar this will be negative information for a dog, how he will understand that he is punished for not listening to command and will not link to punishment with a command?

My bitch is Siberian..Rrr rrr is in her language...I dont think she will respond well to German..she has attitude already. She loves to bite me (playfully)...and argue well ( has much to say in wolf language)..If I didnt have you videos she would be back in the pound..she is a nightmare...but you have made her a blessing. i seen a segement where a man appears with a very large butcher knife. and on command your dog attacked to protect you. while the dog was biting the bad guys arm, at times standing just on his hind legs and exposing his vulnerable soft belly. what keeps that dog from getting gutted by the free hand with the knife. i just dont see the dog winning in this engagement.

I think that keeping your composure when a dog is biting your arm off is more difficult than it seems. Also, I have never seen a dog attacking differently, anywhere. I assume it's the only way they do this, maybe there is no option to train them to do sth different? Lastly, if you have to choose your wife with the knife in her belly, or your GS in her belly, 9/10 times you choose GS in her belly...

If the perpetrator is welding a giant butcher knife and advancing toward you, the protection dogs job is quite literally to prevent the perpetrator from stabbing the dog owner repeatedly and murdering them. The dog prevents it and often dies in the process. That's a protection dogs job. There is no choosing that scenario, that scenario (murderer) chooses you. And if your in that situation with a protection dog, then the dog is going to protect you by buying you time to draw your handgun and blow a hole or seven through the cranium of your attacker. But I presume you don't carry and are clueless as to how a scenario where you are trying to survive a violent murderers knife actually goes down. (Watch an MMA fight start to finish, now image you are the guy who lost with your skillset, and image the other guy had a knife or a gun). You have about a 3% chance, without a dog, or your own gun plus lots of gun training.

Do it 18 weeks really young easy dog to train to do whatever you could imagine. Cons is they really energetic so if you like that not really a con but you gotta be able to handle if you get potentially really high drive dog

I never let a dog jump on me. I dont give a F*ck how big or small it is. It's a sign of poor training and disrespecting boundaries. It's also sometimes a sign youre "lower" than them so they can jump all over you because youre not in charge. I never even look or even touch or talk nicely to a dog until it stops jumping. I'll even yell "DOWN" to make them stop.
