Thank you Haz, Carson, and Dan for this series. Beautiful shots of the trials and of the Ocean at the end. Can't wait for FCI world 🔥 Croatia should still have good weather at the end of September. The trialing is going to be held inland, but if you are up for some traveling, some of the coastal towns are beautiful. And truffles should be in season by then!!

Thanks for sharing Haz. It’s a privilege to watch a trainer who isn’t afraid of showing his shortfall. How many sessions should a handler do of the FULL trial picture before the actual trial?

Having judge over 30 trials in my previous sport, you can't count the amount of times I've heard handlers say " he never does that in training". At the end of the day they are trying to do their best and for whatever reason they chose that day not to. I always tell people to enjoy the journey, and if you make the podium, celebrate. If not, celebrate anyway. It's all good.

Can’t blame the dogs. Handler/trainer should always takes either the blame…or the glory. If a dog refuses a jump there may be an unnoticed injury and dog is avoiding jump. Both dogs are good material, but it’s very difficult to get a dog that has had initial training done by someone else and then attempt to retrain them differently. The first way a dog learns an exercise is always the default they’ll fall back to in a pinch or when they’re tired, not motivated or confused.

@@k9handler He is a very good dog with some phenomenal training. I do not get the idea I am watching a special dog or a special performance when I see him though. He’s not the type of dog I’d seek out.

Curious, on the retrive over jump, are you standing in the middle of the jump, or is Chico in the middle of the jump? If so, maybe he is too close to the edge of jump, so he is choosing that. 🤔

Haz do you have something against Croatian people and the country of Croatia 🇭🇷 I take offense to your comment I'm personally Croatian and proud of it. You should go and experience the country of Croatia and then you might think twice before judging a country that you have never been to. So you didn't make it to Germany but Croatia is still a beautiful country to visit. You will enjoy it just remember how you judge and make comments because there are people out there that take offense my friend. Enjoy.

Sorry Haz … no doubt it turned out to be a big disappointment. Hopefully you’ll find better dogs (whether bred or finding a younger one). I only say that because it doesn’t sound like Chico is going to work out … unless you were just venting. Also, with the potential that Gage has gotten trial savvy. BTW we need the rain in Alberta/B.C. … at least you weren’t stuck in a forest fire or inundated with smoke like last year.
