I've trained all my pet dogs Cesar's Way and I've had the most amazing dogs! One pitbull, one pit/German shepherd cross and a Pomeranian mix. Had from puppyhood, currently aged 9, 11, and Tony passed last year from old age at 14 (my pit). They never went through a destructive phase, never had any problems, ever. Always perfect angels all the time. I swear by Cesar's Way. I'm interested in training/showing working dogs when the pet dogs have passed. I really love your channel, it is super informative and awesome to see some big dogs doing big dog sh!t and real work specific trainers as opposed to the foo-foo, positive only, kissy smoochy "dog lovers." Thank you both for your time!

Gentlemen. Thank you so much for talking about the beginning of your journey. I am right at the beginning of my dog training journey. I am a single dad of 4 kids and still trying to fill my day time slots from 9-3 o'clock. But I am all in with this. There is very little support from the local community where I am as it's mostly force free so I'm out in my own really so it's not been easy having no mentors locally. So Haz all your help and advice goes a long way. I'm still bare bones broke but I won't be for long. I have that vision in my head if what I want to be and how I'm going to get there. Am I the best trainer, not yet but I fuckin will be.😊

Cesar is the best. I absolutely love him. He got screwed over so badly when he was doing was helping people live with dogs. No he’s not a trainer he is a behavioural guru.

Walking with your pack is the greatest feeling in the world. I used to have 2 boys and 2 girls. Pure shepherd, Malinois, 2 shepherd huskies. I lost my boy shepherd husky and I felt incomplete without all four of them but we still hike with joy and power! My girls are 2 years and my boy Mali is a year in October!

We had BullMastiff that had screw loose . He would turn aggressive if you pet him on the head, walk by him while sleeping without letting him know. His eyes would roll back and he would act like he is possessed. When you yell at him he would act all confused like “ what did I do” and would go to his room. Our trainer said he never saw something like that. He bit several different people and we kept him till he was 4 years old and my wife was 8 months pregnant.

@@Hugo-nw2su I agree with you but there is a caveat; Most people are terrible dog owners with little to no control over their Dogs, regardless of breed. This means that training and behaviour modification, regardless of the type and methods, will be futilely applied and render subpar results. *Especially* positive only training ! Don't even get me started.

Can you guys make a vid on how to get into dog sports how to find a good dog to do it with and how to kind of grow from a trainer that does just pets to learn to do more than that I’m 19 and I’ve been training since I was like 16 just pets I want to get more into dog sports protection work and just continue to expand my abilities but it’s hard to find mentors or people to learn from because all the trainers near me don’t like to mentor or train people

Ceasar's techniques are old school, a lot of Koehler method in there. I think the baseline philosophy is solid, but dog training has come a long way since those techniques were developed. There's also the issue of trying to compact decades of knowledge in aversive training into 30 minute episodes. A lot of people will try to replicate it without studying it and just screw their dog up. The person who mentored me about 20 years ago worked directly under Ceasar, for what it's worth. I dunno, I don't really train people anymore and training dogs becomes second nature after you do it for so long. This new generation of strictly positive reinforcement definitely aren't doing less than ideal dogs any favors, because that mindset doesn't hold weight with a stubborn dog. It's like there are both ends of the spectrum, Koehler and positive reinforcement, and neither are right. Blows my mind seeing people say things like "slip leads are abuse", like do you even train dogs or did you just train your dog? Lol. One of the guys who really nails it on this platform is Stonnie Dennis. Totally different from what you do on your channel, though. Working dog training is a different beast, but having that good foundation of traditional training really helps dial in a dog to prepare them for working dog training.

Big ugly mics, should use good quality lapel mics so much better to look at.
@LimitlessJayson3 ай бұрын
All podcasts use these types of Microphones. Most people use the Shure SM7B, much bigger but provides much better audio quality. Lapel mics are harder to sync and also remove background noise due to how small their audio capture chip is.
@rodbarker65983 ай бұрын
@@LimitlessJayson yeah they do but it looks shithouse when it covers their faces, top lapel mics are just as good and you don't see them which makes for better viewing, you just got to buy the real good ones.
