Tbf it didn't matter even slightly, Kripp won that round with over 30 health, a divine shield, and Sneeds left on the board and he would have won handily even if he got the worst possible attack rng. It's much more worth commenting on when the round is a close fight

I was offered three Shifter Zerus on one run I thought I was going to get eighth place, and then just played that Golden 2/2 boy for the VALUE. I got second place, but I don't think this was related.

If you let him transform, he transforms into a Golden minion (as long as it is still available). So a Golden Zerus is good way to snipe grab a golden Mama Bear or a golden Junkbot early. But you still run the risk of getting golden Murloc Tidehunters and golden Alleycats. So risk/reward, but personally, I wouldn't recommend it unless you are already losing and/or need luck to save your run.

I had some very good luck the first couple times I picked him, but most of the time he turns into something useless and I end up putting him on my board just to sell for a refresh. I've stopped picking him now unless im already in a massive lead or I dont need to fish for a particular card.

Yep, while he's in your hand, he transforms into a Golden minion at the start of your turn. On board...he's just a golden 2/2 that was a waste of resources. :V There's also a Firestone App made by Overwolf (the same company that made the Arena Tracker, which some people use that have Brann, Finley, Elise and Reno giving you advice and scores to help you draft in arena), which has an achievement for playing a non-transformed, Golden Zerus. However, I don't like using the Firestone app beyond getting achievements as it tends to award you them at the start of the battle implying that you lost all your HP or got first place, and can ruin a lot of the surprise of the game. Firestone App doesn't really add much to the game beyond giving you a few extra challenges in the various modes, reviewing your collection quickly, and serving as a deck tracker if you don't already have one. It is free though, only showing some non-obtrusive ads when you open the collection viewer/options window.

I had a decent mech setup with manastorm and by around turn 5 I picked up a shifter. The next turn it became a Foe Reaper and I absolutely dominated the game solely off of that and mech buffs.

My favorite thing about shifter is you manage to get a golden one it rolls gold minions. Ended up getting a gold shifter on turn 5 (whenever you get 9 gold) seeing 3 at once (only way you can). First turn was gold malganis with 3 demons on board and got Bran off the battle cry. Ended up taking like 8 damage in that game and smashing everyone.

Shifter zarus super shafted me. For those wondering, triple zarus does not make a gold zarus that changes into a gold card every turn until played, if you didnt buy all 3 zarus'on the same round. Once zarus changes to the image of a card its still zarus, but not zarus nor the new card. Leaves to wonder, if you buy 3 zarus with 9 gold before it has a chance to change will it make a gold copy? Already cost me 1 game to buy 3 zarus' over two rounds. Finding 3 in one round must be hard lol

I just played an AFK who got a turn 4 Mama Bear and Hydra. I didn't win that one. Also there was a Shudderwock who got a very early Zerus while still tavern level 2, and ended up with a lightfang enforcer.

I have found myself picking him up more and more when I see him at 3* tavern. Sometimes that is too greedy, but a lot of the time you can get away with it pretty easy. And then if it becomes good fast it's huge, and if it takes long, eh, it's still fine.

Fun fact, if you buy 3 in the same round and make it a Golden then it will turn into a golden copy of a random tier minion. And in my experience, it’s not too hard to get. I always get zerus in multiples. I think that’s on purpose, seeing as after he shifts to another minion he can’t be leveled up.

Shifter Zerus is the 2nd "best" or "most noticeably more powerful" card in BG as opposed to normal HS. In normal HS there is a ridiculously large minion pool while in BG the minion pool is very selective so you can easily get OP or relevant cards quickly

Can someone explain something to me, so I had two copies of Zapp Slywick, one on my board and the other in my hand, I also had a Shifter Zerus in my hand, when the turn rolled the Zerus turned into a Zapp Slywick but nothing happened, it didn't combine the 3 copies of them into a golden one, did I need to play the Zerus version to my board in order for it to become a "real" Zapp Slywick and thus give me the tripple? What the hell happened?

I would assume you need to play the zapp there, though I don't know for certain as I have never attained triples because of a zerus. Another possibility is that in order to upgrade anything you need to buy the card from the tavern when it has the up arrow animation on it/this is still possible with zerus if it morphs into something you have in hand or onboard, play the zerus copy, then buy the third copy to upgrade.

My one and only succes game with Zerus was when i lvl up to 3, reroll, sell tokens, buy zerus and on the very next turn it shifts to the Foe Reaver - if im not mistaken it was 8 gold turn, maybe. So yeah - when you got LUCKY - it can turn your game around. In this game i win with first place even though this strategy costs mehalf og HP. But in the other games - it keeps turning in 1 star crap. So... It pure luck)

1:53 try the less than 2 gigs of ram strat, no deathrattle, attacking phase buffs.....doing deathrattle etc you get like 2 seconds for a mama bear/junkbot style. Like the really broke style, forget gimmicky minion strat, not a good PC but like a 3 year old PC strat.....worth an investigation.

Well, in theory we have 4 archetypes we can reasonably play: 1: Hybrid, where we take one of Murloc, Mech, Demon and Beast, to buff with that one minion that buffes 2/2 at the end of each turn to one of all types. 2. Mech 3. Beast 4. Murloc (As if i would list demon here, when all i ever saw was them being crushed) But Beast and Mech seem to be the most reliable strategies, so basically Most of the time 8 players will compete for 2 archetypes.
