Thanks a lot for the info!! I read there is a treatment called micro-fracture surgery that helps healing broken bones by creating nano fractures next to the actual break, thus helping the healing process. I also read an article written by Mark Rippetoe, a strength coach, that detailed how one of his clients managed to walk again after an accident when all the doctors told him it would be impossible (heavy loads to increase bone density: the screws in place were driven out of the bones!).

This dude is properly ripped for Shaolin boxing. His muscles are relaxed for fast and fluid movements. Relaxed muscles promote the circulation and concentration of chi (internal energy). Tensed and tight muscles hinders and blocks chi. This is a vastly different concept of muscle & tendon development as trained in Western exercises.

I'm from the Philippines in my town,General Santos where Manny Pacquiao grew up, boxers practice this with a brush-like stick but a solid stick. They usually hit the abs and arms, they believe they make the muscles hard and strong, I've seen Manny Pacquiao doing this too.
@nazaxprime11 жыл бұрын
The dispersal of energy with the brush is in a much wider pattern. if you use a single rod, the energy will be directed to a single point based upon the inertia and angle of the swing... basically the brush is softer, and therefor you have much more control over it. Same reason you start with the bamboo brush instead of the iron. also, any wood would be fine, i imagine, but because of the long fibers in bamboo, it will be "cheaper" and safer in the long run, because of splintering. M 2 cents. ;D

As a physio i'm going to do my best to answer that!....that microfracture process is called 'cortical remodeling'. Which, like you said, over time makes the layers of bone alot more dense. The reason this WON'T work in rehabilitation is because in order for this technique to really have an effect, you must have optimal and health bone tissue to begin with. If a patient had a broken radius, they would not be able to hit the arm remotely hard enough against the object before screaming in pain.
@MeMoRyUzAki11 жыл бұрын
Grab a book and start with your shin/leg region, use the spine of the book to hit that region up and down so it covers the leg area, not too hard or too soft, when you feel it ache rub your legs for awhile and re do it again every now and then, I've done this to the point where I moved from a book, to a woddenstick, a metal pole, to just eing able to cick a tree over and over, just pace yourself and DONT OVER DO MORE THAN YOU CAN DO. good luck theres other ways but I though id share my way

Question Is it safe to hit solar plexus chest lightly ? Let's say canvas bag gravel or steel shots ? At 50 plus would you keep training even with canvas steel shot bag ? Also external iron palm would you stay at gravel level or do steel shot bag ? Heard one instructor who 60 says he only stays on bean bag gravel for iron body uses stick. He says if you do gravel iron plan can hurt yourself. Other guy says his student does steel shots has no problem with his hands. Look at master pan used to hit steel with his fists. He should have used sit da how though. There is a ointment called Kung Fu rub the new jow it is awesome. So your advice on above questions. Michael

I actually tried conditioning with something like what your saying years ago, and had based it on a shin conditioning tool that was basically a 2x4 with a cut in half down to a round(to keep the cut from splitting) near a formed handle... I wish I had seen this brush, I probably would have stuck with it. As it was, I was conditioning my shins because of skateboarding and simply "whacking it with a board" was not good because of the amount of focus. Actually, I bet the brush feels really good...

kinda like deep tissue massage but different.. like my traps are one of my trouble areas. using one of these tools to hit the trapezius muscle lightly and building up to progressivlely adding more force maybe the body will respond to that.. idk if thats how things work tho.. i think i might have fibromyalgia or something.. i havent been diagnosed with anything but my whole upper back is always on fire.

This looks like it makes the skin tougher and less likely to break and start to bleed. Thin skin can be a big problem with some people where their skin breaks and rips way too easily. This conditioning seems like it makes the skin thicker and harder and much less likely to tear and bleed. It will make a moderate amount of callusing of the skin all over the body. Calluses are thick, hard skin that are don't rip or tear easily. Like very light armor over the skin. Very good.

+Silvafox Depends on how often and how intensely you do it. Start of light and 3-4 times a week. Then increase to 5 times a week. Then increase intensity. 2-3 years and you will be fully conditioned. But you will need to keep it up. If you stop then you will lose your conditioning in 4-5 months.

If u r trying to not get KOd then no not really. Getting knocked comes from the brain moving inside of the skull from a sudden jerk of the head, so while yes u can strengthen the skin and bone, it wouldnt do much for u in a fight
@Chupaflaba5 жыл бұрын
To get an iron chin, you need to train for strong jaw muscles and neck muscles to stop your head from jerking after being hit. Like Deven said, knockouts are from brains hitting the skull from a sudden jerk, so if you have those muscles, you can stop your head from moving so abruptly.
