If I could say, I'd say that this piece is really what kaori feels, it's that she's shocked about her condition, angry about it, but then she finally accepts her condition. I'm a violinist myself and I know how hard it is if you really love to play your violin but then you can't even hold the bow... A violinist who can't hold the bow can't play the violin, after all.

This song is interesting, because it could be in the perspective of multiple characters: -Kaori for being unable to play violin again -Arima for always being dependent and 2nd behind Kaori -Tsubaki being left out and behind by Arima's music I feel that this song relates to the sadness that all these characters have. Definitely heartbreaking, for me at least...

I might be the only one who think this, but in my opinion, his banging on the keys was kind of like a symbolism of pain and agony. The frustration of not being able to hold on to something because you've already lost it... The pain of remembering and loving someone who you can never see ever again... I thought the face-paced and heavy banging really symbolised the raw emotions. It was almost like he was crying out for help, crying out for that hand he longs to hold. This performance took my breath away ;(

I agree, although I would say that the frustration would instead be the frustration of being helpless, the fact that the thing you wished would stay with you is moving further and further out of reach, and that the pain would be in the fact that they're gone, yes, but that would also be counterbalanced by the bittersweet joy of all of the memories you made and shared with one another, as well as with knowing that a part of them echoes in you, regardless of how alone you feel, the memories you made with them will always be there, even if it comes with the inevitable pain of knowing they've passed. The quiet parts really counterbalanced the loud banging in a way that seemed to symbolize that to me.

I finished watching Your Lie in April 6 weeks ago and it's still hard to accept that. That ending still hurts. If only the surgery succeeded...it wouldn't cure her, but only extends her life. It would have been easier to accept than that brutal death even if only gave her a year or even a couple more months. I would have been more prepared for it and have a sense of closure. Between the time Kousei said "Sayonara" and the moment you realize she really died, there's only like 10 secs, but for the characters, at least a couple days or even a week passed before that scene at the cemetery. Would we have cried if she died a bit later? Yes, of course, but at least Kousei would have had time to say: "I love you" before she's gone. I think that's what hurts the most.

I love this song so much. It screams feels, and pain. Seeing as the ED shows Kaori lying, and crying in the water, I am getting scared her death flag has risen to unmeasurable height. Although I must admit I didn’t cry at all while watching this show, (I honestly don’t cry that much at anything, but if you do, that’s cool) this show really touched my heart. I started watching it on Netflix, a few years after all my old friends had told me to watch it and I’d cry my eyes out. I’ve moved since they told me that, and a lot has changed for me personally, but I’m glad I finally watched it. It’s so sweet. I feel like it’s about how you can touch and inspire other people without even meaning to (like Kousei to Kaori during one of Kousei’s recitals when they were young) and eventually, your kindness will be given back to you. Kousei had lost quality of life. He was just hanging around with no purpose, paralyzed. His two old best friends can’t do anything to help him. But along comes Kaori, who finally gathers the courage to approach her idol, and slaps some sense into him. She’s so selfless, fixated on giving what he gave to her when they were both so young back to him before she passes away. I just really appreciate that message, about friends, about artists, about kindness, and about life. No other words really come to mind when I think of this show other than “sweet”, “precious”, and “inspiring”.
