Ok but what size is the damn handlenut? I have a Metanium and all these reels have always been 10mm.. However it is stripping the nut out at 10mm.

Hello, I can’t seem to take out the drive shaft on my shimano chronarch 200e6. Idk if it’s stuck or it’s meant to come out. Do you have an idea?

Yes, it does come out. Assuming you already removed the two retaining screws for it, it should come out. They can get stuck for sure, happens often. I spray PB blaster or WD 40 (just a little and do it outside) and let it sit for 20 minutes or so. Give it another go and if that didnt get it out, take two small flat head screwdrivers, go under the retaining plate, one on each side and from opposite angles, and pry up slowly. This creates even upward pressure to lift it out. Once you get it out, I would suggest taking that assembly apart and cleaning everything very well, and the hole you just pulled it out of very thoroughly.

Bayou Reels It worked! Thanks! I have another question, this is my first time cleaning a reel, and it was really dirty and corroded(I found the reel in my father in laws garage). How would I go about cleaning the plastic and metal parts? Especially the brass gear it has heavy green corrosion and rust.

@K C I would recommend alternating between a degreaser and mineral spirits. The mineral spirits are oil based so any residue would leave some oil, esp in bearings. A small wire brush with brass bristles would help you with the brass gear, but dont use it on plastic parts, use an old tooth brush for that.
