Shimano Squidgie are a time and tried plastic that work so well. I love the curly tail version on Bass and bream.

@@mylurebox , I am heading out tomorrow morning to give them a go, Am I better off using a jig head for flathead ,not much structure except weed and rocks, and are they a buoyant plastic like Z man, or do they sit flat on the bottom, thanks champion,

Just a light weight jig head for a flatty 1/6oz or so. They’re not buoyant like a Zman but the flatties do love em too

3/0 to 4/0 depending on width. If you go weedless than 4/0.

I generally run 4/0 but depending on the size of the belly on the lure and if it has a slit etc maybe 3-5/0 could be better. 4 is a safe bet

Why do people call remote FNQ the testing grounds? Surely the proper testing grounds should be heavily pressured seq systems.

Hi Brendan, both are great for testing I reckon. Seeing what gets it done on the Goldy is a great way to go, and having the chance to test lures where numbers tell you a story is good too. Even the way the bite happens is a good tell, what stage of the day and bite time etc is helpful. Sometimes a high frequency spot can give you an idea of what fishes better… though it’s become really interesting to see that some lures fish better in different regions and not as well in others… like matching the hatch I suppose.
